Yeah looking forward to seeing how he kicks on from here. Was worried for him when I saw the first set but he took control from the middle of the second.

 

Murray hit 21 aces in this match. Longest 3 setter of 2021 too. Great to see him improving again.

Looks like Djokovic, Tsitsipas and perhaps Medvedev (among others) may need to get vaccinated if they want to compete for the Australian Open in 2022.

 

His potential is huge.

 

Medvedev v Zverev in the ATP final at 16:00. Should be a better watch than watching the rancid scum win.

Murray has split with Jamie Delgado. A good move imo. He's been with Delgado since 2016 so some fresh input could be good for him going into the 2022 season.

 

Hard to disagree with this. Shouldn’t be allowed to play, any other player and they aren’t getting an exemption.

 

Novak thinks he is above everyone else,he should NOT be allowed to play the Australian Open.Hope he crashes out early or it is rematch of the US Open and he gets even more thrashed.The Tennis fans i know all agree including a massive Novak fan,in fact an ex Massive Novak fan.

The AO tournament director has already confirmed there's been more than one exemption.

“Every athlete coming into Australia has to be vaccinated and show proof of that, or has to have made application from a medical exemption,” Tiley explained. “In the case of tennis players, that’s far more rigorous than anyone coming into Australia applying for a medical exemption,” on Today.

“There are two medical panels that assess any application, and they assess it in a blind way. They don’t know who the applicant is.

“Against the guidelines, an exemption gets granted or not. The reason for granting the exemption remains private, between the panel and the applicant.

“We know of athletes that have applied for an exemption and in cases, it’s been granted.

“Some of those (players) have indicated that they’re here, but that’s up to the athlete, to disclose and [decide] whether they want to share that information.”

 

Because they wanted the face of the tournament and best player on the planet playing in it.

If the highest ranked player to ask for an exemption was ranked 50 they wouldn’t be giving them out.

 

That's your opinion, but he did state the exemptions are done blindly.

I don’t know one way or the other, both are plausible. Always expected Djokovic to play and always expected a loophole.

I make Medvedev the favourite for this slam anyway. He’s in unreal form atm.
