    Somehow I don't see the celebrities getting behind this quite as much as the ice water challenge;

    I'd rather just keep giving to Palestinian charities than get involved in social media :50:

    The point is that most people don't actually know what's happening over there. A startling amount of people still believe that Hamas and Palestine are the aggressors, and Israel is simply defending themselves.

    There has been countless protests outside media outlets such as the BBC because they won't cover the situation fairly. Have you not seen any of them?

    Sending money to Palestinian charities is all well & good, but when Israel then go on to block the help that is sent, you have to wonder if a different course of action is required.

    Awareness has to be raised, and I commend them for trying their best to latch on to this trend and add their own twist.

    So you don't see the point in them trying to put a spin on a trend that's taking the world by storm? Even if it manages to turn a few people to actually wonder what the * is really happening in that part of the world, no?

    Surely doing something is better than doing nothing, no?

    You're right, it probably won't, but when the poor * are standing in the remains of what used to be their homes and their homeland has been hit by the equivalent of six atomic bombs in the past two months they'll probably be willing to try anything, even if the truth is that most people couldn't give a *.

    This will never catch on over here. Hopefully in other countries but i very much doubt it. Also runs the risk of alienating people if its seen as an attempt to hijack attention from a cause a lot of people clearly support.

    I think it'll mainly catch on in the middle-east, which may help to wake a few of them up. The silence from the Arab states has been * deafening of late.

    Because they don't care. I don't think they are sleeping, i just don't think they care. It's not just Israel that has backed Palestine in to a corner.

    Yeah, but as I said, even if one out of every 1,000 actually say "hey, I never knew that was actually happening!" it can be considered a success.

    It's better than doing nothing at all, right?
