(I don't care for either Tigres UANL or CF Monterrey, but I can't stop going to their matches xD... specially to Tigres ones cuz I study at UANL & my friends always buy extra tickets).

Nope, but we don't have many years competing for it, but nope, we never won it... this is the second time a Mexican club reach the final thought... we can't forget that we're North Americans and our confederation is CONCACAF, not CONMEBOL... althought we're invited to some CONMEBOL tourneys in the last 15 years, we only got some 3rd/4th & 2nd places at much... just Pachuca won Sudamericana, althought CONCACAF doesn't allow Mexican teams to compete in it anymore.

Yeah I knew the history hasn't gone that far back as far as playing in South American competitions. In any case how do you rate Chivas's chances against Internacional or Sao Paulo?

For CONCACAF (Mexico's zone) is the CONCACAF Champions League, but it's pitiful to watch (at least 'til Semifinals when Mexicans take it seriously)... this is a match...

just for let you know how bad non Mexican teams are in CONCACAF zone... this is the second leg of the prelims between Cruz Azul & San Francisco from Panama:

For CONMEBOL is Copa Libertadores de América, a real tourny and Mexican clubs are invited since 1998... here the second leg of the semifinal between Guadalajara & Universidad de Chile:

    both matches from yesterday

What is the domestic league table looking league ? How are Pumas doing ?

Getting quite interested in Mexican football now due to Juarez signing and playing as Mexico in the fifa world cup game.

EDIT: Thats if the domestic league has started , I just presumed because the copa liberatadores was still on(i think)

+1 Exactly the same reason as to why i'm now interested :icon_mrgreen:

I tried to check out the table, but it was split into 3 groups... Is that the way the league works in Mexico? I noticed also Pumas lost 4-0 the other day :38:
    My new mexican team haha!

A bit of info 'bout how Mexican Primera división works:
About the groups... well, every team plays once agaisnt each team per season and the 1st & 2nd team in each group & the two best positioned of the rest goes tru Liguilla (play-offs)... the groups is really pointless cuz they could keep the play-offs with the best 8 teams, not with that groups thingy (there are seasons where even the 10th (in the single table) makes the play-offs)

well... that was the bored part... here the interesting stuff:

    Single table

    Results of last weekend:

    Necaxa 0 - 2 Tigres UANL
    Cruz Azul 2 - 0 Atlante
    Querétaro 2 - 1 Atlas
    Monterrey 3 - 2 Estudiantes Tecos
    Santos Laguna 4 - 0 Pumas UNAM
    Puebla 2 - 1 San Luis
    Toluca 1 - 1 Pachuca
    América 3 - 0 Jaguares

IMO, Pumas haves one of the weakest teams this season, they lost a lot with the sell of Barrera & Efra, they didn't signed to anybody... the strongest squads? talentwise I would say Santos Laguna, Monterrey & Cruz Azul...

    * Guadalajara & Morelia match will be played 'til October 6th... this cuz they played agaisnt Manchester United in their new stadium ignauguration.

it is true that or team lost two key players but we have 3 or 4 excellent young players replacing them luis fuentes, oscar rojas, javier cortez, etc basically its been the same for the last few years beroe the season starts every one says we are weak and arent going to do *, but we end up doing good, been in a couple finals and won the championship a year ago

That's the Mexican tournament, even terrible or mediocre teams can qualify for the playoffs! But I don't think Pumas will finish in the first 10 this year, they're awful! I will be going every other sunday, but still, not a very good year to be a Pumas fan.

Hello everybody, i'm Pumas Fan, and just new in this forum.

I think Pumas could do it better, but we have a seriously problem. We play with 4 cones, trees, potatoes bags or whatever names you want to give them. This playeras are" Palencia, Cacho, Dante Lopez & Martin Bravo.

They are our powerfull strikers !!!! ... I don't expect too much with this guys having in their hands the responsability to make goals for US.

We'd prefer watch playing our youngers players, they can do it BETTER !!!

but anyway, Cheer Pumas. we are a great team! greetings!
