Dont know if there’s been a previous thread about this before...if so, apologies for the redundancy, but as folks here have all kinds of interests/hobbies, I was curious how many forum members play guitar, or collect guitars, amps, gear, or are in bands, etc.

It’s a big hobby of mine and it would be interesting to post some pics and talk shop if there are others on the forum who are also into this!

I’ve been playing guitar (almost exclusively electric) since the late 80’s, and have built up a collection of guitars, amps, pedals etc. I also mod guitars and have an online Reverb store as well.

I’ll post some pics of my gear!

Would love to hear from other guitar gear aficionados :50:

Sold all my gear a few years back. Going to get back into it.

Dithering over buying a Strat and Tele (American standards) or a Prs custom 22.
Played guitar for 15 years give or take and regret selling the instruments in the first place.

As a side note, if anyone's selling a Fender Twin Reverb amp then I'm all ears.

I recommend speaking to @Gyp Rosetti if your thinking about getting back into gear!

Great that you’re getting back into it! Based on what you’re thinking of getting guitar wise...if you need to get a single guitar right now, remember, there are millions of Strats and Teles out there...you can always get one...but PRS’s are their own beast...they combine the best of the Gibson and Fender worlds in their own package...go for the PRS...I have a PRS SE Custom 22 in Whale Blue flame which I love. Great guitar.

Tried uploading a pic of it...but apparently the file is too big to upload...am trying to make it work!

I still have my trusty starter pack Squire strat and Park amp I got 20 years ago. Never took it seriously enough beyond jamming with my mates and playing Oasis :giggle1:

Have the same acoustic too which I bought off my mate when I was 14 and taught myself. Every once in a while i’ll get it out and play a bit.

Would love to have added some proper nice guitars but couldn’t justify the expense.

You’ll be lucky to get a Fender twin for the right price. Don’t sit for long and preowned they usually have a buyer lined up. Check out some of the Mexican Tele/strats at the moment they are just as good as the US ones at a bit better price.

I play. Used to play in bands but it’s just a hobby now.

Not a good photo but my baby is on the right. Art Lutherie, hand made (apparently) in Canada.

Never played an electric. I play finger picking, mostly Irish and Scottish stuff with a bit of Bluegrass sometimes.

Agree 100% on the Mexi Teles, in most cases, they’re pretty much the same bodies and necks as the American Fenders minus the higher end electronics and the nitro paint, just assembled in Mexico. I love my Mexican Fenders.

Also, if you want a Fender Twin, go for one of the reissues, as the originals are exorbitantly priced. I’m lucky, I’ve got a ‘69 Twin Reverb that got the “Chop Mod”...where the speakers were removed and it was chopped in half, turned into a head, given an overdrive circuit so that one of the channels has been turned into a fire breathing, overdriven Marshall Plexi, it’s the greatest amp I’ve ever encountered!

The incumbent valves are all there...giving you the syrupy Fender cleans that a Twin Reverb can give you and then the second modded channel overdrives the * out of them. Basically it’s a Twin Reverb/Marshall in a head that was once a combo.

Lovely warm 70s sounds through that. Fairly noticeable after it’s been on 20 minutes or so.

Those look great! I love finger picking on acoustic and on electric (clean)...I’m learning some bluegrass basics. I’ve always been a rock player.
