    I dont remember that, but I was just reading it there and they are sayinh it was observed from the end of feb to beginning of march, and a few other things that stood out that 20 years ago I would have said it was blown up lol

    Supernova light curves decay on the order of a couple months, that's perfectly normal. There's still stuff left over that becomes diffuse as it leaves where the explosion happened.

    But if you can predict it exactly and the prediction is 100% accurate, then it is as good as seeing it. The naked eye can see the movement of mars across the night sky - how it differs from one evening to the next.

    The planets circle the sun in exactly the same way we do.

    From earth it looks geocentric, bit even plane astrolabes can cotrectly predict and track movements.
