    Their squad is unreal, man!

If they can bring it together then I'll be taking them for the world cup..everything is there.

I fancy them to go all the way myself..

    Ripped open again..

When you consider their left back had to go off early. Centre back sent off wrongly straight from half time and right back has taken treatment all game...this has been superb from the French..

Really taken the *. England a threat on the counter a few time's but that was too much from middle to front..

Harry Kane's got a one of those fat tongues where every word he says sounds similar.

The gulf in quality was beyond belief. Let's not forget Griezmann wasn't playing either.

England were outclassed by a French side who had superior technical ability.

    Southgate just looks clueless lol.

Unless they are allowed to play senior they never develop. Most sit on the bench until mid 20s and never get anywhere.

    The Epl has * them..

Good thing for any of us that never want England to win thing's at senior level but they are definitely missing a trick as they have an abundance of talent from 16-20..

On the back of the discussion in the Scotty Sinclair thread I said I would post Didi Hamman's article from the RP at the weekend.

"Tame Three Lions must make Changes

That England have qualified for the World Cup should surprise no-one - but anyone who thinks they can go to Russia and compete should be in a straighjacket.
Judging by the odds, the usual euphoria isn't there so maybe England fans are finally getting the message.
Once upon a time when England made it to a World Cup they'd have been backed in to around 6-1 or 8-1- this time they're a much more realistic price. The penny has finally dropped. Mind you, I wouldn't touch them at 50-1.
None of this is an overreaction to another dismal night at Wembley where the paper planes were more entertaining than the fare served up by Gareth Southgate's men against Slovenia.
This is a cold-eyed assessment of a team who are miles away from world class and have been on the way down since the Premier League was born.
The Premier League is a unique competition. It pays astonishing money and offers a different style to other big leagues- that's why it is a huge draw for overseas stars. And as they have filled the teamsheets from Arsenal to Watfor, better English players get squeezed out. So Southgate, like his predecessors, has a dwindling resource to pick from-but even those he can select are playing the Premier League way, which is completely different to the tactics and mindsets deployed in the Bundesliga, Serie A or La Liga.
I've always maintained that you can call yourself world classif you can make it at the top clubs in Germany or Spain because you will be able to adjust to the international arena. But Premier League players struggle to make that step.
None of this, of course, bothers anyone at the Premier League. They couldn't care less about the state of the national team, only their product, and it's a product that continues to flourish.
But it has to bother England fans because it is only going to get worse.Soon, not only are England not going to be able to compete in tournaments, they might not even be qualifying for them.
Look at the struggles that the likes of Argentina, Holland, the United States and Italy are having merely trying to get to Russia. Smaller countries supposedly lesser countries, the likes of Peru, Panama and the Six Counties, have worked out what levels of organisation and discipline are required to punch above their weight. Could England's defence stifle Lionel Messi the way Peru did on Thursday night ? I'm not so sure.
England have a top class striker in Harry Kane , who would look good in any international side. But then he's world classand the main man in his club side at Tottenham, so we know he possesses the pedigree.
As for the rest, the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlin, Raheem Sterling, Daniel Sturridge, Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana and so on, they are all merely cogsin wheels at their clubs where the overseas stars get top billing.
Maybe England need a change in style, a new approach.Forget trying to do what Spain, France or Germany do. England cannot be compared to those countries. So maybe focus on staying tight and organised, go more direct, adapt to the style that brings out the best in a group of players who aren't world class.
It has worked for the six counties. And are England much better than them ?"

Having said that looking at the page again his two tips for the weekend we Scotland and Narnia :giggle1:

Heavy embarrassing watching guys actually celebrate their group. They don’t learn. They’ve been humbled by lesser teams before.

No wonder these absolute fannies are hated worldwide..

Makes you laugh them singing about the Welsh. They both had the most cringeworthy link up of supports in France as they were petrified of attacks from the Russians..

Good old * * at the end. I feel sorry for any genuine English Celtic supporters..

    Roll on Russia..
