Agreed on the 5 positions you've said there. They are a must in this window, and first team quality as you say. I highly doubt it will happen though, we'll maybe get another 2 in, 3 maximum. And we'll need to hope it's good enough.

Not to be unambitious, but with even two full backs coming in I reckon that's good enough to smash this league, and that for me is the absolute priority this season.

If we can get this squad (with a couple of additions) to the level we're aiming for, then two or three quality signings in each of the next two windows should see us ready for CL groups if indeed we get there.

So, ideal world we get those 5 players in you mentioned. But realistically, am willing to go with 3 for now and work on younger guys like Murray, Karamoko, Johnston, Montgomery etc.

We've went from a respected team in the continent, who teams feared coming to play, to European cannon fodder under this board, Rangers now outperform us in Europe, this should have never been allowed to happen.

 

Monday night, 2 days before the final qualifier for the Europa League.

Still need:

• Right back
• Left back
• Centre back
• Striker
• Possible left wing/mid

Nevermind the Edouard and Christie situations. Deadwood like Ajeti and Griffiths.

Any transfer rumour disappears into the ether. It has been clear to every single supporter that these areas would need to be addressed for at least a year. What are they doing? What is all this work we hear about?

De ja vu. Insanity.

 

At most we'll get a RB and maybe one other position from the 5 we need.

As Rodgers implied back in 2018 when we had a typically disastrous summer transfer window, there is a distinctive lack of ambition at the club.

It's very much a 'do as little as possible' attitude.

 

If we built a team to compete in Europe it would pay off in my opinion, instead of messing about over £4.5 million on what looks to be a big upgrade at the striker position, I get our model of buying young prospects and selling for profit but sometimes you need to go out and get some proven quality, Ajax did that with Tadic and it paid of massively for them.

 

Don't you know, wee Timmy NEEDS his pie at a game.

His da got his first pie and bovril when his old man took him to his first game, so Timmy MUST get it as well! It is a family tradition.
It is the same Pie that great great grandad Timothy Snr once bought, anything other than buying this pie will completely wreck the family dynamic and young Timmy won't get the same Celtic experience that his old man got.

 

Honestly, the fact that the Right Back position, out of all the issues this squad has, is NOT rectified yet, is absolute bafflin

 

where are the new players

 

Agree apart from it shouldn't be 'possibly' a left winger brought in. It should be definitely.

We need one desperately

 

The fact we still only have one right back and sold our previous two 7 months ago is gross negligence of the highest order.

Gone very quiet on the new players front after a few good results and the feel good factor creeping back in…funny that.

 

I find it hard to get to worked up about Thomas Henry I don't think that was ever on and if it was Eddy would need to be gone before he came in but the fact we're now 2 weeks away from the end of the window and still have no RB is sheer negligence

 

Same * now, same * as the last time, same as it ever was, same as it ever was.

 

Will this lot ever learn ? Even after the shambles of last season and the nightmare start we had to this one (out CL, first game beat in the league), they still cant or wont get the finger out and get the players in we urgently need to get to the group stages in europa and to keep up the momentum in the league .
Give the manager a hand ffs , we need defenders and another striker asap and im confident ange can do the business .
Its a huge season given that the winner goes straight into the CL group stages it would be great if this useless shower could actually be proactive just once !!
