‘We have recently been made aware that Bernard
Higgins of Police Scotland is likely to be appointed
to a senior security role at Celtic. Higgins played
a major part in the vicious implementation of the
much-hated Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Act and passionately defended the legislation within the Scottish Parliament. As Assistant Chief Constable, Higgins’ remit involved strategic decisions on the policing of football across Scotland, and he used this power to orchestrate a campaign of intimidation against the Celtic support.

He took great pleasure in guiding his officers to
harass, threaten, brutalise and criminalise Celtic
fans. He displayed a pattern of disdain for all
football supporters, regularly taking to the media to
threaten fans before matches, whilst also defending
the use of supporter informants, dawn raids and
    other extreme policing tactics.

He was so eager to target football supporters that his police force was directed to regularly report our club to EFA to be disciplined, and he personally proclaimed that fans would be arrested for the expression of political opinion, or if they called opposition fans “baldy’.

His appointment would be no laughing matter,
however. For the hundreds of Celtic fans who
either fell victim to the police cruelty that Higgins
oversaw, or the thousands who witnessed their
friends or family endure the ordeals of arrest, trial
and tribulation, this would represent the ultimate
    insult.

The police officer most responsible for the
reprehensible attack on our support, our culture and our values would be rewarded for these very acts by being given a prestigious position within the club that we all love.

Although we have raised these concerns with the
club privately, they are unwilling to engage on
the matter. We believe we have a responsibility
to inform all fans of the impending threat this
appointment poses. Bernard Higgins is not fit to
serve Celtic Football Club and we call on all fans to
make this clear to the Celtic board. On Saturday, we will remain silent for the first 30 minutes of the match. This will act as a symbolic reminder of what Higgins attempted to do to oursupport and make clear to the Celtic board the level of opposition to his appointment.

We understand that our stadium is renowned for
the atmosphere created within it, and we desperately want to provide that backing to the players, however we kindly ask those who disapprove of this potential appointment to join us in this protest. It is regrettable that once again the Celtic board should create a sideshow which detracts positivesupport for the team, particularly at a time when Ange Postecoglou and the team are starting to deliver encouraging performances and results.

‘We call on the board to do the sensible thing and not appoint Bernard Higgins to this role. Otherwise,
we will continue to campaign against both him and
    those responsible for hiring him.

Just read the Brian Wilson obituary about the passing of Walter Smith. After a few nice lines on the late ipox boss, he then added " by this time, the club was caught up in a bewildering series of intrigues and takeovers as well as having been punished with demotion, in 2012, for having gone into administration." Honestly, *. It's feckers like him who have allowed that rancid mob to continue their myth that they weren't liquidated. It's feckers like him that have allowed that mob to ride rough shot over every other team in the league and it's feckers like him who have failed to challenge the bent referees in our league as well as the corrupt SFA.. If we are allowed to win the league this year, then it will not be down to our board but our manager and his players. We need to remember that come season ticket renewal time as they will be looking for our hard cash and I think that should be the time every Celtic supporter's group need to come together to try and bring down those tory feckers.

The board refused to vote on Sevco gaining direct entry to the SPL until the vote was concluded.

It’s no surprise that it’s now openly facilitating the myth that liquidation does not mean the end.

Nonetheless, I’m sure it’ll get some mega retweets from the brain dead on Twitter the next time it refers to Celtic vs Sevco as the ‘Glasgow Derby’.

I just did a search of your posts, to find you believed we were a ‘well run club’.

Wasn’t a personal dig at anyone, mate. Just pointing out that the support should be vigilant of the board and not allow them to pull fast ones.

Not sleekit at all, I fully believe the support empowered Lawwell and ultimately set the stage for where we are now.

Funny thought... If we really want to try to force change in the board, without unduly impacting the club, this/next year might be the ideal moment!

If we qualify for the CL automatically by winning the league we'd be guaranteed the £40+M of European money at some stage, which means a season ticket boycott wouldn't be terminal to us, as it would be at other times. Holding out would see the share price impacted, and dividends, but not effect us on the field. The impact would be negligible as the money would be available upon change or reform in the club.

We'd also be at our most financially viable to new buyers/investors as we'd ever be looking like pole for all future automatic CL spots, and back in ascendance. Also, if the Huns are gonna fold it's unlikely to happen immediately, which should still maintain external interest.

It could be a vital moment of leverage for the fans, and one that wouldn't come again readily...

the club is just gonna keep falling farther and farther out of touch with the support as long as that board remains in place, nothing changes unless we oust them. to many idiots but saying keep the faith and all that *.

I don't think its a case of people saying 'keep the faith' as it is the reality that its not a simple as saying oust the Board to make it happen. The reality is, between DD & the existing members of the Board, they possess approx 48.4% of all the shares, and still retain the support of a significant number of prominant shareholders. Any one of which is enough to put that figure over the 50.1% to maintain controlling interest, and it is as simple as that, really. So it's not about keep the faith, it's about being realistic to know that talk of ousting the Board is purely delusional.

if 60 thousand people keep their money in their pockets we'll see things change dramatically but nope they all bought into the boards bullshit during the summer, and the one guy who could bring us change in that department was quickly shown the door for not doing what he was told.
starve them of cash its that simple.
