I didn't get that from watching it, what made you think it was celebrating the army?

Just like the bomb disposal expert seemed to be like a Riggs from Lethal Weapon character.Bad * American hero wanting justice for that boy who got killed by the Iraqis and that.Didn't seem like an accurate depiction of what soldiers actually do out there,or what was going on at that time in Iraq.

One of the best war films I have ever seen and one that probably has not been listed on this site. It is a korean film called "Brotherhood" which, if you persevere with the subtitles, is a quality film

The Good the Bad and The Ugly, set during the American Civil War and one of the best war movies of all time.

Hurt Locker was pish, Generation Kill was set in similar setting and miles better.

Bridge on the River Kwai is magnificent film.

The other usual suspects have been mentioned.

Actually meant to say it was one of the best westerns of all time, but boobed wie the typing.

Pretty much a perfect movie. Soundtrack, screenplay, 3 fantastic actors. Great beginning, long and magnificent middle and tense and exciting end.

    Love it to death!!

Good Calls on those, Generation kill and the Hurt locker were both good movies but niether were very accurate descriptions of what it was like over there

Bridge On The River Kwai, horibly inaccurate of the conditions the POW's faced.Extremely inaccurate.I advise anyone interested to read The Forgotten Highlander.Great book, but very sad aswell.

Come and See [1985] A Soviet war film a real harrowing film that's totally absorbing if foreign films are your thing. Highly recommended
Vietnam war Total civilian dead: ~420,000–2,500,000 lets see a Hollywood film address that statistic with a cool sixties soundtrack.
