Whats your favourite war film, I've been downloading a few over the past few days, so keen to hear your recommendations.

I watched The Cross of Iron earlier and thought it was brilliant.

saving private ryan, no movie has ever gripped me as much, the end was gutting but brilliant.
Plus it featured imo the best actor around tom hanks, hes my favourite actor by a mile, robert downey junior 2nd.

that one shindlers list with laim neeson in it was good to, theres a few good war movies out there tbf but for me saving private ryan is the best.

'Stalingrad' & 'Downfall' are both excellent & highly recommended, not least of which as it tells these stories from the German perspective.

Gallipoli is also very highly recommended.

'Battleship Potemkin' & 'All Quiet..' are both silent movies, so might not be your cup of tea, though there have been subsequent versions of 'All Quiet...' done. The version from the late 70's is worth a look.

If there is a particular war/s that you are interested in, let me know & I'll give more for these.

In that case, 'Das Boot' is another highly recommended WWII German film. :50:
