That’s one thing that I thought about at the time and here my theory on the first players adjusting to the new diets but also did deila not knock carbohydrates off the menu altogether .... a high energy source that all other club players are able to get their hands on .... basically I’m saying they had an advantage over us through that

Exactly. Deila’s science was evidently wrong but that doesn’t mean Lennon’s approach is acceptable either. It’s not Deila vs Lennon, that would be wrong vs wrong.

Both are bad and the rat had it right. That’s where the top clubs are and we should be there too.

Lennon at least came back in with players at top fitness. Slowly he’s eroded that to the point we are a shadow of the athletes we had before.

Just another reason why Lennon should be removed at least at the end of this season.

Also got outmatched fitness wise by a Copenhagen side that had played one game in 3 months back in Europa last season

I saw a picture on here recently, can’t find it again but it showed how many coaches that clubs similar in stature to us have. I think Ajax and monchengladbach had about 4 times as many coaches and it shows. All the clubs punching above their weight have a far more in depth coaching set up, ours is so amateurish.

This whole myth about players fitness and other stuff only comes out when you are NOT winning. The main fact is that we are a very average team. That's it. We have a squad who are not good enough to compete in European competition with the majority of teams. We are still OK in Scotland as the standard is very poor apart from them who have got much better in recent years.

As I have quoted on here numerous times you need to remember we do not have Fraser Forster in goals this year. Winning the league cup and doing well in Europe this keeper was the main reason.

So..just as a matter of interest, what would you say they should've been eating instead because that doesn't sound that unhealthy to me ?

True having a top keeper is the difference between getting good results away

Ronny Deila arrived and said our inner working was one of the worst he had ever seen did he not, terrible nutrion, fatty food on the menu, and that kind of stuff. can we assume that after Deila and Rodgers got rid of all that, that Lennon has brought it all back?

You don’t need to look at goals conceded to see how unfit we are.

You just have to watch the games and see the * falls out the team around 50/60 minutes.

Lennon’s standards were out of date in his first spell, bringing him in after Rodgers brought us into the modern day was suicide by the board.

It was embarrassing listening to him when he came back talking about all the differences at Lennoxtown.

Just sums up half of our support these days.
Never in my life have I heard of a Manager getting criticised for being out of shape.
    Honestly.

Well no, not really. I mentioned how we visibly tired against Aberdeen in a win last week (while we still controlled the game well). You’re entitled to your opinion about us being average but what is abundantly clear to everyone is that the team are capable of a much better standard of performance than we’ve been witnessing. Seeing us struggle, along with late goals being conceded; those are possibly indicators of a lack of fitness.

Delia had a lot of the players on the Atkins diet which isn't really forward thinking and that's why lots of them were knackered.

Surely its not asking too much of our well paid players to be fit enough to last 90 mins or to eat sensibly

I think that the drop in fitness may be down to the prolonged break due to covid. We haven't looked the same team this season.
