It's the same principle as a financial option Danni, I'm sure I don't need to explain it but in our case it seems we've taken a 3 month option on Kapo and pending on what he does wins a contract at X amount per week, at the end of that 3 month period we can exercise the option to sign him on the original basis if he's impressed or we can add different terms to the contract if he hasn't quite lived up to expectation or we can simply say cya later big lad.

Nah, I was insinuating that you are nothing more than a happy clapper whenever the board is concerned. I'm surprised a man of such great intellect like yourself missed that.

Don't talk to me about partonising either, please.

    Ta :celt_2:

Olivier Kapo didn't need to tell me * all about our PLC.

We have not * the player over here in my opinion, the details of any contract or offer of contract should have been explained to him, in my mind this is a smart bit of play on our part, the type of model of this deal as I read it is part and parcel in all aspects of business.

I'm not fussed - happy that Celtic didn't pay the guy big wages to 'strengthen' an area of the team where we are strong already.

    This from a Wigan forum

"Nah for me Kapo worst ever...within a week of him signing he was after leaving saying he'd made a mistake signing for us"

    This from a Birmingham fan

"Olivier Kapo was one of the laziest, most disinterested players I’ve ever seen, decent enough if your 3-0 up but didn’t want to know if he actually had to do something in a game. Absolutely awful signing"

    Another Wigan fan

"Kapo is the laziest player i have ever seen wear a Wigan shirt, no effort, no determination and to be honest nothing about him is good."

Personally I'm taking this dodger's comments with a handful of salt.

And despite the fact he obviously has talent, I think we are all round better off with footballers who will play for the jersey. Cya Olivier - all the best. :50:

I think he was hyped up so much from young age he thought that he could be great without doing anything.

Not too bothered he left to be honest, looked promising in his first game but we have better than him in the squad

Not fussed he's away, heard so many bad things about him from fans of other teams he's played for. Examples being some of the above.

He wasn't good enough, end of. Cheers to Lenny and Celtic for releasing a statement. Too many times these things are left up in the air, Olivier is obviously just covering his * with those comments. Venture on journeyman.

Agreed. What we're talking about here is a contract where he played for a trial period, and we had the option to sign him at the end of it. So the wage specified is the wage at which WE have the option to sign him. We chose not to exercise the option.

I can see how the guy is * off though - it is a bit of an insult to offfer him a deal at a third of the salary. And annoying if the manager is saying to you he wants to keep you, but the board are offering you what seems a bit of an insult. We'd have been better to say Thanks but no thanks imo...

He's been here since November and only managed to play a total of 50 mins and has been unfit and injured. No wonder we asked him to sign another short term deal.
