He's not fit yet as you would expect considering he took a 4 month rest from football. Steve Bruce has said they will use the international break to get him up to speed. They need him badly do lets hope they do.

A one of a kind player, when he he was on it (as he was for most of last season) he lifted the whole team with him. Needed a player who could split defences open today none better at that than Tam on his day.

Gets his first start for West Brom today. I've missed watching him play.

Steve Bruce played him deep as a 6  he still managed to get an assist but still mind boggling tactics from Bruce.

He can't be anywhere near fit to be starting games though after 5 months out. It would make more sense to bring him on later in the game and build up his match fitness and harpness.

You could set your watch by Tam skelping the steelmen. Would have loved that today especially with it being a tight game.

Miss his composure in these tight games, it was a good influence on the whole team.

His own fault for leaving and missing 3 months of training being unfit as * for a guy who's normally not that fit anyway.

So he stays physically fit but his mental health remains shot?

If he needed a break he needed a break. I don't doubt if it weren't for Arnold pushing for him to get fit for the world cup he would have taken a longer break.

I mean it's hard to see how no longer being managed by Steve Bruce can be a bad thing? Feels like he may just have won a watch.

Reading up on Carlos Corberan and he could be an absolute gift for Tam (depending on whether he is willing to be patient while he gets his match fitness back of course)

He favours fast attacking football played out from the back, which Tom is very familiar with and excells at when paired with a mobile box to box midfield partner.

Corberan training methods seem much closer to the intensity of Anges than Bruce and he demands high stabdards like Ange. Imagine the culture shock Tom would have got turning up for training with Steve Bruce after a year with Ange. Exactly what he needs to push him and get him back to his fitness levels last season. West Brom are a very heavy plodding team, complete opposite of Celtic and apparently Corberan already has them all on a diet lol

Again it's dependent on whether Corberan is willing to be patient and gets that ballance correct by pairing Tam with a player like Hatate who can do the running while he creates (not that I expect they have a player of Hatates quality but simmilar attributes at least)

Came off the bench for about 15 mins and was playing more like his old self again. Amazing what a week of training with competent coaches and a manager who understands tactics can do. They were much more possession based and moving the ball on the floor instead of lobing it long and into the box, so much more what Tom is used to and good at. He got an assist too but not sure Tom knew much about it, but an assist is an assist.

Corberan will have him back to full fitness soon enough.
