He's an excellent player with so much upside. Kubo is a painful reminder - he was part of the basis for the original FIFA ban involving La Masia, eventually forced to leave the club. Pain compounded years later by the fact the board balked at his agent's demands that RM swooped in and signed him before loaning him out to develop at Mallorca

His style is distinctive and effective

We already have a song that would suit him too, get him signed.

No chance we'll get him but would be some loan signing if we did.

I am quite surprised after the success of Naka and lesser so but still success with Ki that we haven’t tried to sign more Asian players, especially since there seems to have been a rising number arriving across Europe.

Koki mizuno, Zheng zhi, Du wei. It’s a cheap market we should be looking into though, always good work rates too and fitness. But finding that extra quality is hard. Usually the few that are quality are taken early by big clubs in the top 5 leagues

I mean, I guess work permits are the main reason perhaps. But why we don't try and take advantage of the Asian markets more is mental.

Constantly churn out some decent players, players at a level that would be great for us.

Being able to adapt is a worry too.

Naka came at a good age with a few years of experience in Italy.

Coming straight from Asian leagues here is no doubt tough. Ki took time to get going.

It’s such an intense place to come and play football. All that along with the culture and language etc.

Would be amazing to start tapping into it.

I mean is Germany any easier? Club wise, sure there is a level of pressure here unlike any others given the culture of football on Scotland and especially the way you might receive fan interaction.

Certainly if we take the time to help anyone get used to the culture shock the markets like Asia, even south America are worth trying to get involved with.

Although I know the chat about south America has been done to death.

Kubo would be one * signing regardless, real statement signing especially given the current times. Which obviously means we are never making it :55:

Like many, he made a mistake rushing to a giant, money-loaded club. The recent revelation that Nakamura feigned bad command of English makes me think we shouldn't automatically assume Asian players can't communicate with teammates.

I think it sounds unlikely with the level of competition and I know we have had a few duds as mentioned above however it does seem liked a missed opportunity.

The national teams of both Japan and South Korea always tend to impress at World Cups and often are praised for there high energy attacking styles. Might be somewhere to consider when looking for a left winger.

Caught a bit of the game last night and the ten minutes or so i watched, he looked very good.
Certainly has got brilliant touch and technique. Finds space.
Figured he looked pretty settled in Spain.

Latest news is that milan's on the front row to get him.
Madrid willing to loan him to any club that:
-Qualify for any european competition next season.
    -pay his 2mil salary.

So i dont think we would pay 2mil just to get a player for one season. Especially one that we couldnt get to sell later.

    moved to villareal https://www.espn.com/soccer/soccer-...-teen-takefusa-kubo-completes-villarreal-loan
2mil salary with no buy option.
iirc, villarreal play europa next year instead of champion if he gone with us.
but the lad himself dont want to move abroad itseems, even go as far as rejecting a move to bayern, so i dont know what our chances was in the first place if the likes of bayern doesnt interest him.
