Yes, we need 8 in total. Currently we have McGregor, Forrest, Ralston, Welsh, Taylor, Turnbull, Bain and Johnstone. From those we need at least 4 that were at the club for 3 years between the ages of 15 to 21. We are just scraping it at the moment, if we let him go we'd be relying on not loaning MJ and adding Robertson or Murray, If we did loan out him and MJ we'd need both if they have been at the club long enough to be eligible, although whether they would be ready for CL football is a completely different matter.

 

Didn't realise we were cutting it so close for the homegrown rules, that might go some way to explaining the length of forrest's new deal too.

 

He's about 6'2 or 6'3

 

He's noticeably taller than CCV who is 6'0", so I'd have said he's 6'2" but he could be 6'3", either way he's definitely a good bit over 6'.

 

If he has the choice and it’s not a loan to buy, he should go and get experience playing regularly in Ligue 1. That would be huge for us as well, he’d come back a much better player.

 

Speaks volumes though that people think he's smaller. He's not dominating in any way despite his size, which is one of his biggest issues.

Had a few decent challenges on Saturday. Remember one header vividly where he won the ball high in the air off a Norwich kick out and flattened the opposing player at the same time.

Keeping Welsh this season is a nobrainer. In case of injuries or players leaving just before the transfer window ends, I would rather we be able to throw Welsh in against some monster type CF in Europe than a young academy player.

 

If he doesn’t go out on loan and get regular game time, it could be detrimental long term for his development though. So although I fully understand where you are coming from, I’m not sure I would want to stop his development on the assumption we might pick up and an injury. As it stands, we have got 5 first team centre halfs at the club. If Jullien stays, Welsh should absolutely be out on loan. Even if Jullien does go, I still think there is an argument to loan him out, as we would still have CCV, Starfelt and Jenz.

 

It is, that doesn't mean you won't end up in a position where they need to play.

He's a stocky lad. Just go through players. Stop being so nice.

 

22 is still pretty young for a CB. Would be good for him to go out on loan and get some more experience. But I wouldn't let him go if Julien leaves, unless we bring in another CB. We need cover for injuries/suspensions and always should have a competent CB on the bench.
