Haha! Yeah... to this day, I can't imagine the conversation that took place to convince Didier Agathe that being part of this movie is a good idea, let alone agreeing to be a R****** player in it. :87:

Oh sorry. I know you're kinda an old fart like me, so just assumed you were talking about the old Kirk Douglas' boxing movie, which definitely deserves it's spot here anyhow, but I will add that other one for you, lol

Definitely recommend checking out Crackerjack if you've not seen it. Not quite on the level of The Castle, but it's an Aussie classic, for sure. :50:

One of the best scenes in a sports movie ever. The first time I saw it I was in hysterics

Thanks for the early votes, have 4-5 in so far, so keep them coming. :50:

Plenty of time between now & Sunday, but hey, take your minds off the crap that the club has been serving up recently and find some inspiration in the world of sporting movies, lol.

    A shot at Glory

Ally Mccoist’s attempt at acting. Not even that bad a film. Mental how Gretna ended up with a similar cup run.

Another classic with a boxing element was " On the Waterfront " based on real characters too.

It could have been a contender !

It coulda been a contender, for sure. Great movie, superbly written and acted. So bit of a issue there, lol. And as you said a reflection of life on the dockyards, my pop had been in Belfast, and had felt the cold shun of being turned away all too often because of bigotry there. So it was different from the movie, but the same.

Slight problem being there isn't any actual boxing in it. I mean, there are movies with more sport in them that are not sport movies... Naked Gun for instance, where the entire last 20 min or so is played out during a baseball game, but wouldn't call that a sports movie, lol.
