Potter plays the same way as Ange. Likes to keep the ball. Duffy was playing in centre of a back 3 today. That's his best position. Dunk & Webster were the ones playing the ball from the back. That is not Duffy's strength

He doesn’t play the same. Just because Potter builds from the back doesn’t mean they use the same system or patterns of play.

If Potter uses a back 3 then straight away that’s a big difference.

He was awful, Truly awful for us but it’s not the norm in his career. * been a solid hard reliable defender his full career up until last year.

Celtic defend much higher up the pitch, Duffy is fine 10 yards from his goal line, diving into tackles etc, but trying to play further up the pitch and control the ball, pass etc its just not his game, any ball in behind and the big man is all over the shop. Gutted it never worked out for him but hopefully he gets his career back on track down there.

Makes you think what the * was going on last year. Was one of the worst defenders I’ve seen in a Celtic jersey, today playing like Puyol. Crazy.

He’s fantastic in the air and physically. At Celtic you are asked to do much more than that. Brighton play out from the back, yes, but they also play a back 3/5 and Duffy isn’t asked to carry the ball much, Brighton also don’t dominate most games (although they are pretty good at keeping possession) and Duffy is comfortable being on the back foot.

He was abysmal at Celtic and he would be abysmal if, hypothetically, he came back. I’d say the psychological aspect of loving the club didn’t help his performances either. Delighted he’s back to playing well. Absolutely love him as an Ireland player.

Not that it mattters but always thought he was unlucky with us,we were playing * when he was with us and was signalled out(ritely)
But i have seen him play for Brighton.Ireland and he,s a lot better than what we saw at celtic but i guess the pressure got to him and it was never going to work out for him or us but good luck to him.

Literally the worst defender I've seen in a Celtic jersey in my life.

To call himself a fan and then turn out performances like that.

Aye, he's a *. Stole money off of us every week for * all in return.

I don't understand the hate for the man. Yes it didn't work out for him here but that's an us problem. We signed a player who's style of play didn't suit us. Was signed because he was a big name that loves the club. Signed for the wrong reasons. Some players would flop at some clubs regardless of ability.

Losing his Dad won’t have helped at all. Neither would coming into a squad where there’s issues with the manager and his relationship with certain players, players wanting to leave, the pandemic, or a squad low on confidence. Things unravelled quickly last season. I believe Duffy was in no mental state to play football and with mistakes his confidence didn’t recover.

You're a fan.Would you magically become a top class defender?

Calling him a * is scummy hunting behavior
