Hes a United man. But Celtic would have a big following in the city. A lot of people would cheer them on as well although wouldnt see us as their '1st team'.

Is it a straight swap Forrest for Duffy or are we giving them money aswell?

Diggler is right though. A lot of people in Derry do support Celtic, but they might also have an English team who they like. So in some instances they'll say "aye I do like Celtic, but my first team is United/Liverpool" etc. Works both ways too, many will support Celtic and have a soft spot for an English side, personally I couldn't give a * about English teams but it's just how it is here. Not only Derry too, a lot of Ireland.

So even though Shane is tweeting all that, he may well prefer United over Celtic although he still follows Celtic :smiley-laughing002:

He lives beside me too, even when he was at Everton I'm pretty sure I seen him in Celtic gear so don't take it bad fella's, he still does like Celtic :smiley-laughing002:

By the way, what's this rumoured money plus Forrest deal? Is it £2m + Forrest?

Duffy apparently has a year left on his contract but I would imagine it's something like that yea.

Am I the only one that feels we're being stung if that's the deal?

Both in the latter stages of there contracts. I'd think a mill the very top whack, would surely be fair-ish..

Forrest on his day is probably worth more than Duffy. He just has no heart, respect or will to succeed here....so he can * off..

If Duffy's contract runs until next summer then Blackburn would also have January to sell him if he shows no interest in signing a new deal, we don't have that option with Forrest, it's now or nothing. Plus with the money situation down south, it's not too bad a fee.

Personally I'd be happy to spend £2m on Duffy and getting Forrest off the wage bill would be a bonus.

Yes, he can sign a pre contract anywhere (for all we know may already have done so with Blackburn). I think Blackburn would be a good move for him. To be honest I'd be surprised if, come January, he didn't end up in League 1 or even at Hibs or something. He's a fraud who's absolutely stole a career this far.

Don't know a lot about Duffy,Brendan has said he wants to sign quality over quantity, does anyone who has watched him think he will be a quality addition to the first 11?

The latter part will no doubt be a major factor. Wee * has not only shafted us for year's with his poor performances and inconsistencies but not only that, has shown disgusting loyalty, despite the amount of time's we've stuck with him through injury, and are now gonna receive fuckall to show for it..

    Infuriating..

He'd definitely start for us given our current CB situation, don't worry about that. :smiley-laughing002:

Had an excellent season at Blackburn.
