Am sure there will be a lot of people unhappy to see a Scott McKenna transfer thread starting up again. But to me, this article in the Daily Ratbag makes it clear as as day that he wants a move to Celtic for a reasonable transfer fee.

    ------------

When former Rangers boss Mark Warburton came calling with a £3.5m bid from QPR last summer, it seemed a move that might end up suiting all parties, but ultimately the financial disparity from previous offers kiboshed the deal.

It was an outcome McKenna found hard to stomach and one he openly admits he struggled with.

He said: "There were a lot of things about that move that would have made sense.

"Everyone would have benefited, Aberdeen and myself. This is just me being honest. It's nothing Aberdeen won't understand. That's where my frustration lay.

"I thought it was my chance to move on while the club was receiving offers probably nowhere near what they had received before. I signed a long-term deal to protect the club. I was told I would be allowed to move on, that I wasn't going to be there for five years.

"At the end of the day it's your life, you want to know what's going on. I got a bit too involved, a bit distracted. But I always did my best for Aberdeen. I did not down tools, it's not in my nature."

McKenna grew up in a passionate Celtic supporting household despite his location in Kirriemuir.

His Hoops daft father took him to games and it was Parkhead's electric European nights that left him most spellbound.

But while he openly admits his childhood allegiances he is clear that there is no room for sentiment in the mind of a modern proffesional.

He said: "My dad was a Celtic season-ticker holder. I went to a few Celtic games round the time they were doing well in Europe.

"I remember being there when Alan Thompson scored versus Barcelona. I used to love going to a midweek game at Parkhead under the lights.

"Of when you play against Celtic for Aberdeen I want Aberdeen to win.

"When you become a professional and it's your job, supporting Celtic goes out of the window. You play for Aberdeen and you want the best for Aberdeen."

We'll make a deal with him..

Mark Eddy out the game tomorrow and we'll sign him in the summer..

I've no doubt I'll be sticking a humiliating montage up of the big diddy by 2 o'clock..

Mckenna under Rodgers would have been a horrific sight, I still don't want him and we can do so much better but Lennon has made proper Diddy's look good before, who knows :fear:

If we're going for McKenna, or should I say IF Lenny fancies him, then this could be a huge indicator that Lenny really rates the 3-5-2 formation long term.

A left-footed CB would bring some real balance and allows Ajer to go over to the right hand side.

    Ajer - Jullien - McKenna

Wouldn't be totally against it if I'm honest.

Absolutely no chance, our first pick defence will be Hatem Jullien Ajer, then Bitton as back up along with a younger centre back we’ll bring in. We aint spending £5M on this donkey to sit on the bench. He’s gotten worse since he broke through at the sheep.

Not sure how the OP has managed to claim that it is clear as day he wants to sign for Celtic at a reasonable offer from the quoted article.

If anything, he wants to just leave Aberdeen, period.

As for coming to Celtic, as always, no thank you.

Is he a Tim? Does it * matter? He's *!

Rumours have been he asked to leave ages ago. Wouldn't be shocked if he wants out to us.
Rangers Forum is hilarious, claiming he will fixing the game. * idiots. One of them claims he knows a couple of his relatives and they are indeed celtic fans. But this could easily be hun bullshit.
