He had a perfect opportunity to slide that Aberdeen player through. Most likely a nailed on goal/cross with real danger if his pass was good. Agent Scott slipped it just that bit too far. Good guy.

Perhaps but they have nowhere near the technical ability and I'd take that all day over sheer strength.

I do think we need someone else in that situation if a game is getting rough. Actually think Mccarthy would have helped.

Tbh I think maybe with ange in charge another year of broony could have been an option but defo not a frequent starter, for me still an upgrade on mccarthy.

If we could predict things with 100% certainty..even with how frustrated I became with brown last season....I'd have loved him to stay under ange and get coaching badges as well play part in the team while unofficially handing captaincy to mcgregor for games.

Would be such a great option to have instead of McCarthy.

Personally I think it was the right time to move on.

As a team in massive transition it just seemed like the natural thing to do.

Plus, he's actually helped us more this season by being instrumental in Aberdeen taking 4 points off the Klan.

This is very true... I'm just being biased because I don't see the point in McCarthy.

I was saying at the end of last season that it would be good for Brown to go coach outside of celtic and earn his stripes that way as I do think he's a potential future manager of ours.

The right time for him to leave was two years before he did.

Honestly, it baffles me how some people view football at times. Here we are flying under a progressive manager and people are still longing for a well past it Scott Brown.

We’d still have Lustig at right back turning like the QE2 if it was down to some people.

It’s not really about footballing ability. It was time for a fresh change, he needed to go so the likes of McGregor could step up. In hindsight he should’ve went at least a year before he did.

I’m 100% convinced moving on was the right thing to do. When the time is right he could return to the club but we need to de-broonify for a while, and that’s not a dig at him it’s an enormous compliment.

A real legend like him knows when its the right time to leave for the best of this football club. Unlike * like Neil Lennon etc.

100% was correct to move on. The transition and change needed was massive and as much as I love the guy and think he would have have it his all, it would have still been a Scott brown midfield, which would have hindered McGregor in his role and stepping up at captain.
For years McGregor was held back, because Brown played so deep that he became a third CB and provided no support to the midfield and thus to an attacking option as we see McGregor doing now.
McGregor is now supported by guys like Hatate and O'Reily, Turnbull first half of the season, which means the most defensive player at times, is still an attacking player in McGregor.

Arguably he could have left a year earlier, even two. But that's as much in hindsight as it is to suggest he'd be a better option than McCarthy now.

The squad overall, is in a much better place without Brown.
As sad as that is to say.
