    Actually mental when chasing a goal last night while having the 3-5-2 in play he wasn't taken off. We took Christie off ahead of him ffs.

    Let me say he was near excellent in what he was capable of doing last night,defensively. But he just doesnt offer anything going forward now and what he does defensively isnt enough. Especially with 3 centre halfs behind him. No amount of intangible qualities like leadership or drive make up for that.

    His contribution doesnt justify a start nevermind not being subbed off last night.

    We're * ourselves over not having McGregor in that role on nights like last night in the 3-5-2. Cals had 1 game there in the 6 role of the 3-5-2 recently and he was motm. Just defies logic at this point.

    I am a massive fan of his but at the point when Christie came off he wasn’t playing well but still more likely to get us a goal than Brown. When we had them stuck in their own box the majority of last 20 mins you had him , Ajer and Biton in a row across the park with Julien behind one on one. We would have been far better with mcgregor back playing as the one pulling the strings and taking off brown.

    This is not slagging off his contribution to the game or his performance in what Brown gives us but what the team needed to do to breakdown a stubborn defence.

    You never know, he scored the late winner to beat Hamilton in November/December the night the huns got beat. Also the late winner at Rugby Park.

    Sums up what I've been thinking lately really, one of the main benefits of a 3-5-2 is the 3 in midfield support the entire transition back to front. Brown dropping deeper leaves us thin there and asks too much of McGregor/Christie (or Ntcham/Rogic) to get the ball forward.

    Think it's most obvious at throw ins. We inevitably go backwards because only McGregor or Ntcham/Christie seem to feel they're in a position to show for them.

    Yes, would have hooked him and left Christie on.
    Hope he is rested for Saturday, 4 games in 10 days way too much, have him sparkling for 15th.

    If that’s the case then I’m not sure why we didn’t just play Christie, McGregor and Rogic today and get him rested for next weekend.

    SB: It’s (COVID-19) a serious situation we are all in and we want the best for everyone. We obviously want to play football but we’ll take it day by day and listen to what the SFA are saying.”

    SB: You’ve got to do what’s best for the safety of the fans. It’s more contagious when you’re in a big crowd. If games go behind closed doors then the SFA are looking out for the welfare of every person.”

    SB: “I don’t know what’s going to happen. It seems to be getting worse so we’ll take the lead from the club and the SFA. We’ll worry about that when it comes. Things stand as it is right now, we need to make sure we focus on this game on Sunday.”

    SB: on if the season was to end prematurely: “If it ends then it stays as it is. We want to go out there and win as many games as we can, whether it’s in front of the fans or not. It would be sad if fans aren’t there because that’s what football’s about.”

    SB:

    @Leighgriff09
    ’ back scoring goals, a great hat-trick at the weekend and he’s linking up well with
    @Oedouard22
    . They’ve looked good together and been a joy to watch. To get Griff back puts a smile on his face and a lot of lads’ faces, it’s good for Scotland too.”

    SB: We are in a good place right now. We are playing well and need to make sure we keep our current form going, we are looking forward to the game on Sunday and that’s our main focus.”

    These are the games Brown was born for. I honestly dread the day he is not in the tunnel in that vile place. These Ibrox games are where we need his leadership, his know how.
    With a weeks training under his belt, he will totally dominate proceedings.
    Said it many times, Brown still has it, just needs game management, no way should we play him 3 times in 8 days nonsense.

    Mibbes Broony's last game at Ibrox as 1st choice..makes me a bit sad, hopefully he finds yet another second wind though and can continue next season too.

    He is apparently carrying an injury and taking injections for it though so that could be what his wee drop off recently has been about. Hopefully he bosses the * out of the midfield next week and goes from strength to strength off the back of it.
