Its gonna be a sad sad day when the captain calls it a day been nothing short of legendary in his role and leadership and every goal he scores is celebrated like a last minute winner due to adulation from.the support

I was up with the Gods in the South Stand upper tier and was shouting "Yes Broony! Right into that wee * Mallan"

Might've got away with it due to their surnames.

Absolute Celtic legend. I can’t wait to tell my kids stories of Scott Brown’s era as captain.

Think I enjoyed the foul more than the goals tbh.

The consistency in performances he’s demonstrating currently is phenomenal.

He should be struggling with age, but is defying the aging process.

Even biology is scared of him!!

He never gets the credit he deserves for his brain in the media. Even from the relatively decent BT team.

He may not be the most gifted technically (although he's better than he's given credit for); but he reminds me of Lambert or McGregor when we're in possession, in the sense that he always keeps the ball moving really quickly, doesn't lose time picking a pass, because he already knows exactly what he's going to going to do with it and is always thinking 2 or 3 passes ahead when he makes them.

There was a bit in the second half where McGregor sucked his marker in and spun into space to start an attack. The commentary team rightly praised his awareness. Thing is, Broony does stuff like that too and it's always "Brown showing a brilliant burst of pace" or stuff like that.

Even defensively, they always mention his strength or technique in the tackle (which he does have, obviously), but never the fact that he anticipated it ahead of the opponent.

wish we could clone him but looks like his successor is waiting in the wings. Lenny has indicated Calmac will be the man.....not sure if this is the carrot to keep him on board.

He’s become such an integral part of the fabric of the club now that when he does leave we’re going to feel it on and off the park hard.

Won’t quite be as bad as Henrik but for a lot of guys and girls around my age, there’ll probably be a bigger realisation of how massive a chunk of the club is leaving than in 2004.

Yeah, but as you know (or should know) the world revolves around me, so he obviously was only teasing me and no one else. :yeah:

Evergreen Scott Brown could be handed a contract extension that sees him continue to lead Celtic from the front until at least 2022.

The Parkhead skipper's sensational form at the age of 34 has convinced boss Neil Lennon that talks over adding to Brown's current deal that ends in the summer of 2021 are worth considering.

He was outstanding as Celtic made the final of the Betfred Cup against Hibs on Saturday and Lennon's captain will be leading his side once again on Thursday night as the Hoops take on Lazio in Rome.

Lennon said: "He’s incredible. And I think he’s playing as well as ever.

"I look at Rangers away, Lazio, Hibs on Saturday, Aberdeen away and other games.

"He had a little bit of a toe problem at the start of the season, that was curtailing him. But he’s over that now.

As for another contract, the way he’s playing at the minute, it might cost us a few bob!

"It will depend on how he’s feeling and how he’s playing at the time. I think he’s got another year after this one.

‘We’ll take a view of that maybe this time next year, with him as well.

"He’s in a good place and the players respect him and look up to him.

"He’s not in the team as a cheerleader. He’s in the team because he’s a * good player.

"And he keeps churning out consistent performances that we don’t take for granted."

Brown grabbed a brace at the weekend and Lennon says he's delighted his skipper is contributing to the scoring charts, but admitted his eye for goal is a bonus.

He added: "He scored a couple of really important goals last year. And he’s come up again with two against Hibs.
