A few dodgy decisions/passing in the second half but overall an outstanding performance. Again.

Yes, he did fumble a bit just after HT but so did all at that ropey patch. Overall, was excellent.

I think the wee man thrives on it to be honest. He's been written off countless times throughout his career but always has the last laugh in the end.

At some point his playing time will gradually need to be reduced but right now he is still a massive part of our team.

He was my MoTM v Lazio and today after a ropey first 5-10 mins, he dominated proceedings from then on.

 

He was * excellent today, need to point out his big brothering of Frimpong. Constantly his cover, was a constant outball if he was needed. Just let a talented young guy focus on his own game, had his back all day to make sure he’d be ok.

Arm around him at the end and a wee chuckle with him. That’s a * captain right there.

 

Am sure I read somewhere a few days ago, one of the lambs gobbing off about sorting Brooney out.
Lots have tried....

 

A lot of people forget that side of it.

They see him misplacing a 10 yard pass and it's bedlam because player X, Y or Z on the bench could've easily made that.

He may not be the most technically gifted footballer but he's never professed to be.

He might not have the close control of Rogic, the scoring ability of Christie or the passing ability of McGregor but he brings different qualities that they don't possess.

His anticipation and reading of the game is absolutely exceptional, I'd say it's almost, if not on, a par with Lennon in the noughties. Thursday night was a masterclass from him, he pressed and won the ball when he had to and stayed back in shape when Lazio were trying to draw us out.

 

It'll be an impossible task to replace him. He'll walk straight out of our playing team and into a backroom role.

He'll be with the club in some capacity for however long he wants. He won't be truly recognised for what he has achieved and given to the club until he hangs up his boots.

I love you, Scott Brown. I'm terrified of the day when you announce your retirement.
