Thanks for ‘making it easy’ :giggle1:

Mate, basing who should be between the sticks for us on the value we paid for them, is * idiotic. End of.

It’s not possible, and even if it was. No chance. The guy turned his nose up at us in the summer, in fact he actively ignored us even after everything the club as done for his career, twice! We’re not desperados and shouldn’t be tragically chasing up a guy who clearly doesn’t want to be here. If we are to get another keeper, which I don’t think we need, it won’t be Forster.

I’m in no way writing him off, or suggesting that he shouldn’t be given the chance to acclimatise.

Im saying that choosing him over Bain based on the fact we paid more for him, would be mental.

Both Bain and Barkas are both unfortunate that they're fighting for the sticks after Forster last season, in which Forster was absolutely incredible. There's no real way either reach that level but both are good goalkeepers, I fully expect Barkas to be back between the sticks before the season ends but Bain is a solid GK.

He’s a far better keeper than Bain will ever be.

    Good for him.

Let’s hope he starts showing it soon.

I think he already has. He commands his box much better than Bain, hasn’t let us down. He’ll be fine, let him settle in mate and you’ll see.

Incidentally Craig Gordon is also a far better keeper than Bain. Sorry, but it’s true.

Bain is better than a lot of people give him credit for and he’s been a Godsend for us in 2 separate periods whilst he’s been here now with the past couple games being 1 of them.

He has his own flaws but the jersey is his until Barkas settles properly and starts proving his worth in training or in games should his chance come back round again.

Is that why Brendan Rodgers dropped him for Bain in the last season.

Nope. He can’t pass the ball from the back but in actual goal keeping ability he’s streets ahead of Bain.

Because he is not as good with the ball at his feet, that’s the only reason.

I stuck this in the Gordon thread cause of some of the history re-writing that seemed to be going on yesterday. Think it’s important to post in here in the interests of balance for Bain/Barkas compared to Gordon.
