Ikechi Anya would be a good addition to the squad.

Going by his performances for Scotland, Anya would be a good signing.

However you wonder why he is still playing for Watford and no bigger teams have come in for him. Does he raise his game for Scotland matches but is inconsistent at club level....Ive got a feeling that might be the case.

Snodgrass would be the player I would go for.

Stevie May would bring genuine pace, and appears to have real potential. I'd also like it if we could get Shaun Maloney back home. Snodgrass would also be a good addition to the team.

Anya suits international level because of the space he gets when we counter. He can use his pace. Think he'd be ideal for Europe personally.

Doesn't necessarily mean he'd 'score for fun' or 'get bucket loads' as the
    sayings go.

Daryl Murphy has 17 goals in the championship this season.

    Martin is gash.

Anya would be ideal as he's a genuine winger with pace, works hard for the team and he has proven he can have end product. Could be used for his specific attributes in the same way Agathe was.

I always think the nucleus of the squad should be made of actual Celtic fans but I wouldn't want players playing for us just because there Scottish or Irish for that matter

Which team our players support is entirely irrelevant other than to have an emotional pull for quality players that might not choose us otherwise.

I like the idea of having scots In the team. But strachan made that team. Players might not have been technically great but strachan makes his teams solid and hard to beat first and foremost. With deilas tactics being far too exposed some might not cut it. Basically any defender really.
Few players I would take though. But problem is the English based players would be too expensive

I'd be looking at the younger players personally. I mean the likes of Maloney and Anya would be good. But I'd be looking at players like Armstrong, Hendrie, Allen, Walker, McGinn, etc. Young players performing well in the SPL that could potentially make the step up.

    That's reason enough :smiley-laughing002:

But even when you look at the great club team's of the past every single one had a core group fans in the team people underestimate team spirit nowadays

How many Celtic fans were involved on the road to Seville? Lennon? McNamara?

Not in the context of the point I'm arguing against!

We don't need a core of Celtic fans or Scottish players, we do need people to buy into what the Club stands for though. Current examples being Guidetti and Johansen helped along by the fact the squad is led by guys like Brown and Mulgrew.

The Seville side, to a man, may as well have been 'Celtic fans' as every single one of them bought into the Club. It helped they were quality players as well.

    Agreed mate.

People like Hartson, Sutton, Mjallby, Thommo, Larsson etc. all weren't Celtic men on arrival. They certainly were by the time they left.

McGinn's not Irish unless you're thinking of Niall.

    Aye i'm thinking of Niall.

    My bad.

John McGinn's young and strong, doesn't get pushed about....But i'd be looking at better players for that role.
