Think he might stay and if he keeps performing like he has been, I’d forgive him for last season……mibbae.

What are you basing that on? Just a hunch based on your dislike of the guy?

Even if he was looking to move, I’d much rather see our players put in 110% every game like he is than throw the towel in like Edouard has.

That said, his performances are based on the fact that he is enjoying playing under a proper manager and he is leaning (quite heavily) towards staying at the club. So much so that his agent has asked the club to put an offer on the table.

I dont believe he wants another contract, thats my opinion. Christie and his father are chasing the £££'s down in England. However maybe with Ange here and the positivity the club at the moment maybe he would sign another deal especially if he doesn't get an offer from a decent EPL club.

If we are to entertain any hope of keeping him, surely we would need to offer him out top rate of pay. Not sure what that is, was Brown our top earner last season when on something like 28K a week???
Also, we would need to offer him some sort of get away clause. Not sure how that would work.

Or it could be the level of coaching he is receiving. All our players looked worse last season. Let's be honest after a few months you could even see Turnbull go down hill. Players didn't seem to like working under Lennon.

Brown was on 23k a week. I'd think Christie would deserve that if he was willing to commit to 3 to 4 year deal.

I can't see how we cannot agree a release clause or have a clause we'll let him leave if a certain value can be met or a gentleman agreement he can leave within a year left or something.

Personally I hope he stays and prospers.

Ange is clearly getting through to him. There was a point around 30 min mark where the ball fell to Christie at edge of box, and he tried to whip it across the goal for Kyogo.
Last season he wouldn't have entertained that thought.

Looks a totally different player. Unrecognisable from last season. If he wants to stay and continue playing this way get him signed up

He’s been outstanding this season, getting him tied down now becomes a priority.

Did very well out of position and thriving again under Ange. Still need a left winger but having him as an option there is great.

Thought nothing came off for him first half, though the endeavour was there for all to see..

Nice slipped pass for the third..

    Kyogo. A phenomenon
I actually didn’t think he was at his best tonight - and he was still good. Would be a sore one to lose on a freebie. Obviously enjoying his role in the team.

Wasn’t near his best tonight. Worked his * off though.

He’s never a left winger, but we already knew that.

Not as good as Sunday but that was never likely to happen. Still want him playing as a number 8 through the middle, but he's so versatile I'm cool with using him out on the left.

Worked hard last night but it just didn’t come off compared to Sunday.

That’s wing play sometimes though. Still picked up excellent positions and made space through the middle.

Angie said, ‘we’ve not to play him at centre-mid’… :fear:
