Is there any timescale on a return? I'd assume at least 4- 6 weeks if it was keyhole surgery and much longer for anything more severe

    * it, if this is the case then and Rogic isn't fit enough to start games, then * get McGregor up there and have Ntcham partner Brown.

Chance for Rogic to get some game time, would also give Johnston a shot in the 10..

Brown and Ntcham with McGregor pushed forward doesn’t work for me, when tried before it’s been slow and pedestrian..

maybe try Ntcham in the 10 role. Said this a few times he has the passing and a cracking shot.

I wonder if Christie was playing injured from the start.

CELTIC star Ryan Christie required urgent groin surgery after Sunday’s defeat to Rangers, according to reports.

The Hoops ace, 24, was eventually replaced by Leigh Griffiths after being involved in an earlier tussle with Alfredo Morelos.

And according to the Daily Mail, he was then rushed to hospital to undergo an operation on his groin.

Post-match examinations on Christie reportedly showed the need for immediate medical attention

It came after he had reportedly been forced to try and play through the pain following his battle with the Rangersstriker.

It’s not yet clear how long Christie could be out injured for.

Celtic are not back in action until they face Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup on January 18, following a winter break training camp in Dubai.

Neil Lennon’s side also have a Europa League Round of 32 clash with Copenhagen scheduled in February.

While Steve Clarke will hope Christie is back in plenty of time for Scotland’s Euro 2020 play-off semi-final against Israel.

Meanwhile, Christie’s father Charlie – a former Inverness star – has insisted his son will bounce back from his penalty miss against Rangers.

The Celtic star’s spot kick was saved by Allan McGregor in a game that ultimately ended 2-1 to the visitors.

He told SunSport: “Sunday’s result and penalty miss was a deep disappointment for Ryan and the rest of the team.

huge blow given how important he has been for us this season but perhaps fortunate timing with the upcoming winter break.

if Rogic cant take this opportunity and stay fit, id really look at selling him because he has been a peripheral figure this season and fitness seems to be a chronic issue.

100% need to go and sign a goalscoring attacking mid now for me and I thought we could've maybe done with one before this news..

    Rogic is unreliable..

If the injury is bad then this is a chance rogic must take. We're missing ellanoussi just now bcoz a fully fit ellanoussi scores and creates. Both these guys fit and firing bring a new dimension to how we play.

defo and i think we need to get him playing again. But when looking to play our strongest possible 11, do we keep mcgregor in his current position and bring in ntcham or elyounoussi?
