Not necessarily, we've still not replaced Rogic.

It would need to be some wage cut for him to come here, certainly wouldn’t say no to him but every club he’s been at says how inconsistent he is.

Maybe Ange could get the best out of him but he wouldn’t walk into the team that’s for sure.

Thompson got 1 cap when they were gagging for left midfielders and was never seen again.

Forster is obviously an outlier given at his peak, arguably it was only really Hart and Forster worthy of international games.

Barkley could do amazing with us but would never get called up when they have a glut of players in his positions

I could see us signing him have a feeling if he was gonna go to an English club he would have went already

You said they’d never get picked for squads not pick up caps! I don’t think he’s good enough for England currently, that’ll will be the main issue that you’re alluding to - not that he’d be playing in Scotland.

Would be similar to the Joe Hart signing where his stock is so low that it is a strange signing to make, but like Joe, if his attitude is right then he has the ability to come in and be a big player for us.

Can't see it happening personally as we don't need a midfielder as much as we needed a keeper when Hart came in but you never know...

    Sorry, maybe I misunderstood.

I was trying to explain if Barkley, for arguments sakes...was looking at Celtic as a way to get back into England squad. He'd be mistaken.

No matter how he performs he'd never get called up at all. He'd be ignored.

He could effectively do the numbers I've randomly made up while at Celtic...at say any bottom half club in EPL and at least learn some sort of provisional call up but at Celtic it's not happening regardless.

Scott Sinclair couldn't get anywhere near it at a time when he was amazing down the left and I think at the time England only really had Rashford to call on as left winger if I'm not mistaken.

Too risky for the amount it would cost us. Has had quite a lot.of.injuries and has a questionable attitude.

"Wee chance on Barkley. We need Chelsea to offer something in relation to wages for a loan. Been told the player had reservations about playing in Scotland but those have been discussed and we are very much under consideration for his next move. Champions League obviously being a big plus."

If he's willing to take a 75% pay cut to come here then fair play he'd he coming for the right reasons. Still can't see it though.

Would he be able to hack our training and match day demands.

I feel like coming here might just put him into early retirement

West Ham being linked now.. Chelsea will want him off their books completely and some club down there will offer them money and far more wages.. just can't see this happening

I'd say he did, anyone coming from the EPL would need too. He's reported to be on 96k a week..that's some wedge..

Hope we have a Plan B lined up if he is our main target. Would love to get him - even on loan - but can see another PL team signing him.

The way I see it, we signed his replacement last January in O'Riley. It's just that they coexisted for a few months.
