OK bhoys and ghirls so i'm going to pop the question to the other half on valentines day, i want to do it in style and not i this country.

Does anybody have any ideas of what is a good romantic city to do it in?
Also if anybody has stayed in any 5 star hotels that are really nice and luxury

Try and avoid PARIS, i would go there its just a bit cliche

Paris is great though, but if you want to avoid it, it would recommend a place in the south where you have a chance that the weather will be ok at that time of year.

    Plenty of options: Barcelona, Rome...

Do it the day after Valentine's Day. A real shock that will be.

Alternatively, don't do it. It will ruin your life.

    Killarney or galway.

Not sure if they are romantic, but they are good for beer so you can drown your sorrows when she says no.

I've heard such mixed reviews. The history of it would interest me a lot.

I love the place. Been there loads - pal from Belfast used to live there.

It's got everything: the history is just astounding, great bars (that are open round the clock), great food, it's cheap as *, it's well connected with flights etc.

My favourite big city in Europe by far.

I recommend it to anyone without hesitation because it has something for everyone.

Well now, that's a much more comprehensive overview of the city than my sister's ("it was full of gobshites").

Will have to give the place a go.

The history in the city is mind blowing you look up and down at some of the most modern buildings in the world then sat at the bottom of it is a wwII guard tower

Will definitely b taking berlin into consideration
