21 nights at the 02 it was. I was at 2 of them.

I'd never seen him live before that, but he was a real showman, and made you a fan as soon as you saw him live.

    I love this from him...

R.i.p. only recently bought a few of his albums. Some are a bit mental but the guy had some talent. Be sadly missed from the music industry.

Beautiful ones is my favourite Prince song. The guy was a legend.
Privileged to see him at Parkhead, Meadowbank, SECC and O2. I stupidly decided not to go to the Hydro cos I was getting married and thought £75 plus was silly money for a concert and I'd see him next time. :(

Sorry I didn't realise you'd aready posted that. Just take the 's' out of https and it'll show up as video.

It's so difficult to find his music on YouTube because he was very guarded about it. It's the same with trying to find a Hendrix song, his estate have people monitoring media outlets all the time and he's dead 46 years so I doubt we'll get much access to Prince.

Pity you missed him at the Hydro Rayleotter but at least you did see him 4 times so you know what he's like.

Ray, just post the url directly, then remove the s from https before posting.

Ah right it was 21 nights of course thanks. Yeah it was the first time I'd seen him live and I know what you mean, an absolutely astonishing live talent.

That video is brilliant, I don't think folk truly understood how good a guitarist he is, even the superstars he blew away that night. He was a multi instrumentalist as well, played everything on at least his first album.

I think his dad was a Jazz musician so that must be where he got his talent from but he was known to buy all the albums of bands who were trying new things and listen to them non stop till he nailed the vibe. Plus he lived in the studio. I guess that's how he went through so many genres.

ILTC I tried to find Red Corvette but it's not there, apart from cover versions I think.

If there is anything good thing to come from things like this, its the coverage there songs get, you realise how many songs from them you like.

RIP to a talented and entertaining person , 57 is no age .

It's now time (once again ) for the world to unite in wildly exaggerating the importance of entertainers .

Nice to see Michael Jackson tweeting his condolences, haven't seen much of him lately. Wonder what he's been up to.

Well entertainment is very important to us. That's why nearly every guy in the world loves sports. Nearly every man and women loves music.

So some of them are important because they are better at it than others.

Imagine the world was full of average musicians and footballers and there were no Larsson or Messi or Jonny Greenwood. These are the guys who can induce spiritual experiences.

They have still to release the cause of death, but the fact he was found in an elevator at his home would make you think it was a heart attack or something?

Was sat next to him up in the gallery at the London Hippodrome one Wednesday night (rock night) back in 1989.

He was a Jehovas Witness. (Medical restrictions).
