Reo Hatate

I'm on record worrying about how we'll cope in the champs league with the way we play but if we can translate that passing game at the top level then we very well could do some damage.

 

His shorter 1st touch build up play aswell. Cracking wee player!

Technically he is great. He has also really benefitted from the break and pre season with us. He will only get better as his english improves and he grows into his role in the team.

 

What a player..

 

His turns, vision and range of passing is high level stuff..

He's going all the way to the top..

Wee guy has been brilliant.

It seems he maybe gives away a few more bad passes than others but I feel its because hes alwsys looking to go forward and trying that killer pass more than others.

 

There was one about 5/10 minutes before that from Hatate to Abada pretty much carbon copy. Or am I thinking if the same pass lol. Pretty sure I’m not though. The volley was class too.

He is such a technically gifted player he hit passes like that on a number of occasions he drove forward with the ball effortless after turning out of their press. He was unlucky with an attempted through ball for GG.

When he did hit that shot of his left I was surprised he didn’t find GG then with a little pass but what a performance and what a player he is.

It’s incredible to think what Juranovic, Hatate, O’Riley, Jota, Abada, Kyogo and GG would all be valued at right now in comparison to the fact we got them all for £22.5m, even at the very low end of fees you would be talking about £110m but more realistically substantially more.

 

Hatate and O'Riley for about a combined £3 million is an absolute steal!

 

Yeah I think there was an earlier diagonal pass… but it was more conventional.

Unfortunately it’s already on the taken for granted list when he’s volleying bullets and smashing 60 yard no look diagonals

 

As good as he's been, think he can and will kick on scary levels. What a player

Probably the most clear cut example of how age and footballing predigree shouldn't rule a line through someone's career. 24 years of age and had been playing for a university team until he was 22, most people wouldn't even take a second glance at Hatate.

Not oor Ange. He knows a player when he sees one. Could spend the peak years of his career as a very technical midfielder at some of the best clubs in the world if he continues.

 

He’s already at the best club in the world. * the rest of them.

Can honestly see him here years, the Japanese value loyalty higher than most, makes me confident the boys will stick about a while.

 

His passing is unbelievable. That first time volley across.the pitch straight to Jota, oooffftttt.

 

24 months ago he was playing University football in Japan. That’s mad.
