    I saw someone say it might be a prequel to red dead, where you're still John Marston, with Bill Williamson and his gang etc

    Didn't the Old West 'die' around the time Red Dead Redemption was set?

    I think it'll be a prequel of sorts.I'm not aware of any rumours or news regarding this,but I hope they do a whole new map,instead of just sort of expanding on the old one.

    I played the original for like 9 hours straight one day and then never picked it up again. I find I really struggle with single player games, I like playing against people rather than AI.

    Gutted we need to wait another year. Really surprised actually. Thought they'd have done a Bethesda - announce it's to be released within about 6 months.

    Still, can't wait for it. Looks like there's going to be a significant online mode as well.

    Hopefully it has more of a civil war theme to it this time around. Which could be likely seeing as Red Dead Redemption was set around 1911, and the American civil war ended in 1865 but reconstruction continued through till 1877. John Marston born in 1873, 4 years old by the time reconstruction ends. Lets say he starts running with the Williamson gang aged 20 that would be 1893?

    Hmmm on second thought maybe it's too much of a stretch. By the time 1893 much of the ex-confederate insurgents aren't as active, like the James-Younger gang that ended with the death of Jesse James in 1882 and the Jaybird-Woodpecker war ended in 1899 (Red Dead is set in a fictional Texas).

    Was hoping for another zombie DLC down the line with Confederate Zombies this time around but that wouldn't work either, as no fighting took place in Texas.

    Least I can hope for is some heavier Southern Gothic elements this time around, they touched on it slightly in the last game. Texas has its own Bayous so that would be a nice change of scenery and could fit in with that Southern Gothic theme.

    I think it will centre around the Williamson gang in all honesty. Rockstar caught lightning in a bottle with the character of John Marston. He's pretty much a "wild west icon" for people now the way the man with no name is. It Makes sense.

    Edit: * their name was Dutch's gang not Williamson haha, idiot.
