    Solid 7

If we had got Turnbull would have gave it an 8 or 9

Got rid of some amount of players.

£54 million we have brought in the last year and a 1/5 spent on the first team with youth players and loans .we have plugged a couple of holes the 13 outgoing players left .
when does improving the first team start?

£55m brought in from Tierney, Dembele, Rodgers and his staff and Congerton.

Around £17m spent so just under 1/3 actually spent not 1/5 :50:

I have a vague suspicion, based on pretty much nothing admittedly, that we might be looking at O'Connor as a CDM.

I went for 8 in the end.

Some exciting looking signings in and I have to give an extra point purely for the fact we actually have Elyonoussi at the club.

A CDM and potentially a CB like the Serbian and I would have been even happier.

As I said solid 7 out of 10 but is 1/3 of sales reinvested into the squad good enough for some? For me we have still downsized but in a good way for the most parts. You have unloaded probably £10m per season off the wage bill and probably another £3m in UCL bonus money so that brings wage bill down considerably to a more manageable level.

We now await the accounts around the 18th September where they tell us we have X amount in the bank and where we go for this season.

Window started decent Jullien and bolingoli at start of July then some serious heel dragging for whatever reason.

We now go with what we have.

Good few up and coming players signed also.

    European football to Christmas
    100% record in league
    Home cup quarter final
Put huns back in their box for a wee while
Kept all out big players bar KT

I was thinking exactly that.. some good quality first team players and some good prospects for back up and sensible loan signings... but this all should of been done earlier. I get BR left us in the * with our backroom staff but hopefully we learn to get our business done earlier... anyway onwards and upwards..

Edit KT only significant player that left..

Don’t know where this should go but seen Antwerp have signed Mirallas, Defour and Hoedt this window.

Belgian league is getting money pumped into it, another league that seems to be pulling away from us and going to make transfers harder.

All the more important we get the structure sorted in the background.

Been reading a good quote from Fergus recently. There is no such thing as a 5m pound player.

It ends up double that when you factor in contract, bonus etc...

Although KT netted us 25m he will cost Arsenal nearly double that over the course of his deal.

It's the same for the players we bring in. We have to factor in their wages etc.

Considering what i THOUGHT we were going to end up with and what we actually got... its a * 10!

Money has been spent and for the most part, spent well.

Im content. My rage has been quelled.

    Still need a CDM though.

Then we have to factor in the wages of the 13 odd players that left. I think the absolute bare minimum was done in this window a club the size of Celtic should not be starting the season without a rb or constantly playing midfielders to patch up the defence

Positives: signed a number of first-team-quality players; signed a number of exciting prospects; some glaring weaknesses addressed

Negatives: lost a number of key players; failed to sign and bed in players in time for crucial games; overrelied on loan deals

    I think that I will give it a 6/10 or a 7/10 just now.

7/10 .. As it stands after the International break I may re-access. A decent Cdm would have took it to a 8 for me.
