    The Co-Founder of easily one of the most Influential Bands of all time Kraftwerk has sadly passed away just after his 73rd Birthday after a short battle with cancer.With Ralf Hutter The Kings Of All Electronic Music as i have always called them were formed in 1970 and were always years and years ahead of their time.
    They are frequently nick named the Electronic Beatles for very good reason such was the sheer level of their influence.
    Man Machine their Classic 1978 Album is my favourite Album of all time and i will play it tonight saluting Florian. R.I.P True Music Legend.:49:

    PS Kind of fitting he did get a mention on the BBC Six 'O' Clock News despite the countless tributes pouring in from fellow True Stars from all over the World.We all know if many an Overrated and Overexposed Pop Star had passed away it would be all over the news.So yes very fitting.

    I was introduced to them as a kid by my big Cousin Peaky in Bearsden and i have loved them heavily ever since,never forget how i took to them big time straight away.The following year The Model got to number one,i was thrilled hearing kids in my year singing to them:50:

    I recall seeing an edition of Tomorrow's World ( years after it was broadcast ) where there was a feature on Kraftwerk . It said that the band were trying to develop jackets with musical lapels , where you could press buttons to create notes . This was from 1975 . That's how advanced they were in terms of electronic music . R.I.P. Florian .

    Glad to say I saw them live a long long time ago before their “relaunch”.

    My double A side Das Model & Computerlove 12” was worn to nothing by the time cd’s came along!

    The sound they created was/is mesmerising and that solo on Das Model near the end is still the greatest synth melody of all time only followed by Are Friends Electric and Enola Gay.

    I am now truly getting old as the idols of my youth all slowly slip away........

    Yes i was lucky enough to see them at The Barrowlands in 1991,Brilliant is just not good enough to describe it!!

    So important the contribution they made to music. Inspiration for so many styles like 80s Synth pop, industrial, b-boys, hip hop and dance music as a whole movement. Have been aware of their music from I was a young lad and used to breakdance and this was my signature tune. Safe journey on afterlife’s autobahn to heaven. RIP

    This coming Sunday Radio 6 are doing a 2 hour Kraftwerk Special 6-8 pm.A Special tribute to Florian and this Great Group he of course co-founded.I cannot wait,a few good cold drinks listening and listening.All the tracks are to be chosen by listeners:84:
    Also today in the Guardian Newspaper a cool Page on their Top 10 songs in terms of influence.Not a Newspaper buyer as such but made an exception when i went out for some milk early this morning.
