Potential Manager Suggestions?

If we're going for ex players with no managerial experience. Shaun Maloney was a highly rated coach here with Rodgers and has been working as the assistant manager with Martinez. I image he has a much more modern outlet to the game than Lennon, having worked under those two managers and might consider a step up to management

 

To be honest, I was a bit unsure about Howe when his name was first mentioned. However, the more I have read about Howe - I would love to have him.

I worried about the fact that he left Burnley to go back to Bournemouth even though he was under no pressure and the fans were happy with his progress. However, I understand that there was a bereavement in his family and his kids were pretty young.

He is held in really high esteem by the players and fans for the way he coached the team and organized the club. When he went there, they were in real trouble and he turned them around and got them moving forward.

When he went there he kept the existing assistant manager (who stayed with him for 10 years including Burnley) - he took the manager's job when Howe quit and the club are currently 3rd in the championship.

That's my only concern - I don't want any new manager being lumbered with JK as an assistant.

This only works if a new manager can bring in his own team and Lawwell is out of the picture.

I doubt he would take the job if his coaching team were picked for him and I think he would walk as soon as Lawwell started interfering.

Have said this before, but I’d be really interested in Chris Davies..

I knew he was young but only just clocked that he is just 35. So I would suspect he might want another 4/5 years beside Rodgers before heading out to management

Can’t believe he was only 31/32 when he started with us. Professionalism personified for me. Quite a way from what we have the now.

 

Similar to Rodgers in the fact his career ended early and has been a coach ever since .... why Rodgers took a shine to Kennedy same situation

I’m not one for rumours as 99% turn out to be pish but just been forwarded a text from an alleged Celtic source saying Howe will be coming in soon.

 

wouldnt be my first choice , probably 2nd or 3rd but would be happy with this and would fully expect him to be backed and allowed to make his mark in the club ! Was spotted playing gold with lawwell last year i believe also so maybe been promised it at end of the season as i think lennon would have been off either way but maybe get the chance sooner!

 

Eddie Howe? If the Celtic manager come the start of next season is anyone other than Neil Lennon I will be staggered.

 

Howe would have been a decent shout but his assistant has taken over at Bournemouth so now i'm not so sure. It will probably be Howe and Kennedy.

So much to look forward to.....
