Harkin has almost 12 years experience at Man City relating to player recruitment and the City Football Group network.

My point regarding Kennedy was about getting the support structure in place with coaches, recruitment and analysis that would allow someone like Kennedy the chance to succeed; that is not me advocating for him getting the job but I'd have him ahead of guys like Keane.

 

See with a guy like Harkin, giving up the resources and abilities to sign any old talent because of money and England perhaps at face value appearing easier to sign obscure youth.

Coming up here would surely be a massive shock to the system, walk through the door, set himself up in his office and go about his business only to find we don't even have half the capabilities to sign talent like city can.

To me it sounds like another recipe for disaster.

 

I think it’s obvious the only stumbling block in announcing Howe is the DOF. He wants Richard Hughes and it looks like he won’t take the job if Celtic don’t take Hughes. I wanted Howe but I’m not sure this is the best way to go about it. As many have said we need a plan in place that will progress us for the next decade, not another 2/3 year plan that leaves us in the same position we are now but only further down the line.

 

I can see this falling apart hope I’m wrong. We need to get this right straight away and not in fighting and implode. PLEASE

To an extent yes. But. Howe knows he can work with his man and vice versa. Who knows if Howe accepted Harkin as DoF that they could work together. Could be a match made in heaven or another jock brown Wim Jansen scenario

Harkin is a Loan Manager for the City youth team. That involves finding suitable loans for youth players that Pep wants to get some first team experience. And once they are out on loan, making sure they are happy. That is not recruitment and it's nothing like a DoF.
We, in all honesty, could do with one of them ourselves.

 

I'm confused as to why no announcement has been made, maybe, just maybe another club is tapping him up & Howe is second guessing the deal.
