17 years here. So correct me if I’m wrong he came in after the year we reached the UEFA Cup (now Europa League) final. Just shows what a * job he done imo. Anytime the huns were half decent they won more leagues then us in his times here. Good riddance.

But the last 9/10 years we have had a free run of things. And he still failed to strengthen from a position of strength and look what has happened.

We had the champions route sorted and * that up constantly due to the plan that was set out over and over again.

All that money we could have had would have secured the 10 and we would be even further than 10 in a row if he got a forward in for WGS in his last transfer window instead of Willo Flood.

Yes the guy made mistakes, but you know what, the new guy will make mistakes as well. This idea that PL is to blame for everything bad and DD gets the credit for anything good does not work. PL has gone and new guy will come in but we will still sign players for 1,2,3 million and still struggle in Europe for the most part.

This season has been a bad one that's for sure but its not all down to PL. These players last season topped their group in the Euros and this season nearly broke the record for most goals lost in group stages. That's not down to PL or even the manager. That is down to the players. What ever game they are playing this season, its them that has * us.

Lawwell knew he was never going to survive after this season. His legacy will be the man (along with ginger baws) who * up the 10. He is a narrow minded tight fisted * who lacked ambition for the club. A cheap John. Don't hit your chins on the way out.
    Good Riddance

Good riddance a * of a guy who had our club nowhere near its potential because of his power hungry antics.

Have to admit I feared he would never leave but thank *, it’s time for change. Feel a buzz again with regards to the club, hopefully we pick ourselves back up from here on out and move forward

Hopefully this is just be the start of the culling and we see a complete clear out of all the deadwood we have at the club. As they say, rip it up and start again

Interesting news. My main gripe with him is the perceived over prudent nature of his transfer dealings, but it can’t be denied he’s been good for Celtic. Seems like the right time to go and looking forward to some change.

I have always gave DD *. It’s his fault just as much if not more than Lawwell and I would love to see the back of that * as well.

making the same mistake over and over is not learning from it though? Every year we all wanted players in early or in January to bed them in for the qualifiers and looked what happened.....

We will struggle in Europe because we have been run terrible on the park. That’s a fact.

Our main rivals died the league was in the bag, we where initially in a position of Strength with Rodgers in and what did Lawwell do? Play hard ball with him and not get the players he needed and he left.

I never said the new guy won’t make mistakes but he can’t operate like Lawwell has or the fans will turn quickly against him and DD.

We will sign players for 4/5/6 or even 9 million because we have done not just the 1/2/3 million you have said.

just to add all of the teams that have knocked us out have had a fraction of the budget we have had in Qualifying stages.

So Lennon is blameless for our Europa League showings this season? The players stopped playing for the manager after he threw them under the bus after Ferenczvaros when he opted to play with no striker and tried to shift the blame from himself. The board and Lennon are the biggest culprits for the shitshow this season.

Those players didn't lose the ability over night, yes lenny didn't help but they them self decided to drop 1 or 2 levels to where we are now. Look at where eddy used to be and what he has put in this season and his games from France u21. Any other job you would be sacked, even if your manager was a * you are expected to still do your job. 23 points behind is not doing your job.

The announcement could provide a huge boost to the team. Given that Lawwell would be the one that dealt with transfer requests, contract negotiations, new deals etc. It could be that he was the one that fell out with a lot of the players and caused them to take the huff this season.

Maybe Eddie will start to look interested again now he's not got this * holding him hostage. Christie can stop kidding on he's Messi, since he won't want to continually make an * of it in front of the new guy. And Klimala might regain his focus, since he doesn't need to repave Lawwell's driveway on his days off any more.

    Lawwell get to fuck
Just because he didn't run us into the ground and bankrupt us doesn't mean he was a good CEO.

He presided over lots of squander and failure.

Most notably the persistent failure to prepare for CL qualifiers. That has cost us over 120 million in the past 3 seasons alone because since 2018/2019 the TV and prize money have been at their highest ever, roughly 40m for group stage participation and share of UK TV market pool from BT.

The refusal to back Rodgers' ambitious plans at Lennoxtown and invest heavily in the playing squad saw us lose our 2nd greatest manager and replace him with an unprofessional jakey who failed at Bolton and Hibs. That is where the seeds of this ruinous season lie.

Before that we were on course for 4iar in 2009, but were finding it difficult with the injuries to JVOH and McDonald's fitness issues, meaning we had to play Cillian * Sheridan up front during an important title race. This was obvious as far back as December that season, but we failed to sign a striker in the Jan window, most notably Stephen Fletcher, and low and behold we blew the league with two 0-0 draws in our last two league fixtures when a win in both would have clinched the league and likely have expedited the Huns' financial meltdown since they would have been denied valuable CL money and probably had to sell off all their best players just to keep the lights on, leaving us in a position to comfortably sail to the 10 much earlier.

Just following on my previous post: Lawell had it in his gift to finish the huns off once and for all! he didn't! because he (in his head) considered the value of the blue pound to Scottish football, he should have Feckin buried them
