Obviously a very troubled man, but I don't think he's a bad guy. I hope he makes a full recovery.

I couldn't care less about the flute miming, I seriously doubt that he is actually a bigot, he's just a silly, silly man.

I do not revel in seeing others struggle with addiction, regardless of their personal circumstances, so I hope he gets the support he needs.

I do not, and will never, like him.

Just seen the video for the first time, and it's sad to watch. It was as though he was a circus act being prodded into saying things by the other guy.

    Quite shocking state he's in.

Feel heart sorry for him personally. He has been a clown his entire life, used and abused by hangers on and now when he needs them the most they are nowhere to be seen.

Five bellies, Evans, Baker and the rest of them will have a cheek to shed a tear when he eventually does kill himself (which he will do). They are a disgrace.

I don't wish it on him by any means, but I think it's only a matter of time before his death is breaking on the news. He definitely does need immediate help.

As for the whole flute playing celebration years ago, as someone said before, I don't think there was any malice intended behind it. He was only trying to play up to the vermin in the stands, the ones who paid his wages when he was here.

I don't think there was any malice in the flute playing antics as I simply don't believe that Gascoigne has the intelligence to realise what he was doing, by that I mean the meaning behind what he was doing, not the fake flute playing act itself. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he was goaded into doing it by some of the knuckle draggers he met while out and about and being as thick as he is he thought it was a good idea.

The wife beating can't be condoned and he's a * for that.

All in all I really don't know what to think about his situation to the point where I'm just shrugging my shoulders and thinking "so * what?"

I thought it was pretty sad. As much as I don't like him as a person, I wouldn't like to see that happen to any human being.

He's obviously made some severe mistakes throughout his life, it's never nice to see anyone in that sort of state. I wish him all the best, but it looks like he may be beyond help.

have u seen a handsome hun
they all chuckled when this guy would have a couple of whiskeys at half time to make him "Play Better"....all his hangers on should have kept him sorted.......this is the guy with the imaginary flute in a city divided with sectarianism......a low life scum bag who beat his wife on more than one occassion......was this not the guy who also done a * in the Jacuzzi in the away dressing room at celtic park.
We've watched this guy slowly descend into the depths of drink and depression as his friends turned there backs.....they're words of support now ring with hollow sentiment.
    No sympathy here.

Where's the likes of Danny Baker now? Happy to enjoy his company and lead him astray when all was good, nowhere to be seen when the man really needs them. They're the real scumbags here. Little sympathy for Gascoigne either, no wife-beater should be defended.

Given what was happening in the north of Ireland with the Orange Order at the time,Drumcree etc - he knew exactly what he was doing with the flute celebration. He's a scumbag and I don't have much sympathy for him at all,but it's sad to see anyone being used like he is by his 'friends'.
