They make most of their money through oil fields which they captured do they not? So the only way to stop their flow of money is to bomb or go in and occupy these oil fields.

Of course the bombing of Syria won't solve the problem.

What it will do, though, is further the western agenda in Syria, where the real game is being played against Russia.

Russia are pro-Assad, and will do whatever it takes to see any Government opposition quashed, whilst the western nations would prefer that Assad was gone and replaced by someone who is more "western-centric".

The propaganda against ISIS is just a by-product of this feud with Russia, and certainly isn't the main reason for both sides being involved in Syria.

They're already armed. They have advanced technological equipment in their power. They already have guns, they already have man power. This problem isn't going away by just pretending they don't exist.

And your solution is to continue the failed tactics we've used since 9/11?

It's better than plugging your ears and pretending there isn't a problem.

That's what you've taken from my posts? Despite the fact that I've highlighted the problem to be much bigger than a terror group based in parts of Syria?

I have no objection to the bombing of oil fields/refineries. That goes hand in hand with cutting if their money supply. Is it not quite telling that they've only just started considering this in light of the Paris attacks?

Bombing cities with thousands of civilians? Nah, not for me.

    That doesn't address my points.

Why do you believe that engaging in a bombing campaign against Syria would make the UK safer, when evidence from Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan would suggest the opposite to be the case?

People need to separate the need for revenge (because let's face it, that's all the desire to bomb is, I don't think anyone really thinks it will remediate the situation, they just don't want inaction) with an actual long-term solution.

Plugging your ears and pretending there isn't a problem? Of course not.

Dropping bombs on a heavily populated area full of Syrian civilians? Anything is a better option.

Bombing oil fields and cutting off power to cities, towns and villages at this time of year will kill loads of people as well. This was Homs in the winter (I can't remember what year), and all major Syrian cities are bombed out like this now.

Whose on about superior intellect? Don't get your panties in a twist because you have been asked on countless occassions to provide an alternative and have yet to give an answer, employing a tactic of evasion and word smoke that a politician would be proud of.

No-one thinks that the bombing of Syria is the long-term solution to the problems in the Middle East and North Africa but to it is a solution to a very immediate problem that exists right now.

So what is your solution to stopping ISIS as they slaughter hundreds of thousands right now?

Please feel free to skirt the question again.

How can you accuse Daibhi of avoiding providing a solution? Tell
me how, considering historical evidence of bombing campaigns against Iraq, Afghanistan and Libyia, bombing Syria will make us safer?

Fair enough mate, not something I had considered. There must be a way to damage their supply lines enough to mitigate their main source of income though.

Honestly, if I knew the solution to this problem I wouldn't be sitting here replying to you on a * football forum, I'd probably be in an extremely well-paid job providing the answer to the people who are involved.

There is no easy solution to this problem, but one thing that we pretty much do know is that the tactics employed over the past ten years or so simply haven't worked.

Bombing the Middle-East, be it Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and wherever is next on the hitlist won't put an end to the problem.

In fact, I'd be willing to bet that it only results in further attacks on the west.

But the threat to us right now is a terror group based in Syria.
