As I said, I can't disagree with the reasoning and agree that there is no 'status' or ranking attached to those with access. I also don't see any good reason for people seeing it that way, but it's clear that some do unfortunately. Hopefully that last post of Dempsey's wil make it crystal clear to people that there is a perfectly justified reasoning behind it. Out of curiosity - have seen positive results so far?

 

All very positive and no negetives so far from what I've seen. Any of the topics discussed would have been locked by a moderator, have been locked when the thread appeared before and one thread was locked on the public forum and moved there and has continued in there without any issues.

 

Threads will still be started in the main Forums, but if they get closed then Lisbon Lions Members can request they are reopened in the Lisbon Lions Forum for further debate.

 

If this was the case then you would get people posting loads of * just to get their post count up.

 

Sounds fair to me.

I was about to suggest that 'reading only' access might be an idea for others to follow it out of interest, but on second thoughts that might be counterproductive.

 

would this be for the elitist amongst the tc forum? they could then have highly intellecyual conversations about threads when they have got rid of the riff raff ( fellow celtic fans ). this is the kind of eletist claptrap that i would expect from a hun forum. the have and have nots game cannot and will not ever work.

i would like to think of myself as a really easy going guy but this is nothing short of proposterous in my view im sure i read that in the 1930' - 1940's somebody else went down the seperation road and came to a sticky end.

i have only been a member a few months and there is a lot of good people on this site, and where i live its great to be kept up to date with my beloved club but i would prefer everything in the open without private forums that people cant access. THIS IS NOT THE CELTIC WAY!!!!!

He's talking about threads that have been locked because members have flamed/trolled/spammed/offtopic'd in.

The thread is moved on request to a forum for members that observe the rules of this website. Thats not elitist claptrap or hun forum, that a minimum requirement of TC that was broken, punished then passed on to a list of people known for their maturity in discussions

 

and as a moderator, they have the divine right to decide who is mature enough to join the big bhoys? just seen a thread closed that was quite rightly provocative, but the mod seemed much more intrested in the guys spelling *, surely as a mod he should deal with topics at hand not blast somone for bad grammar ok awful grammar

 

No, admins and supers are handling the admissions process, already stated this, please read all of the thread.

We have rules about textspeak and bad use of english. go read the rules.

And whats all this divine right nonsense, this is a privately owned server.

 

Sounds like a decent idea. There's seems to be a lot of new ideas buzzing around the site recently.

 

This one has been on and off for over 2 years, how to moderate it and make it work was the big issue.

here it is:

Everyone is added to the lisbon lion forum or whatever and if anyone makes one single slightly off-topic/joke or whatever they are banned without warning.

Then nobody can complain because everyone has had the chance to be part of it and the only posts made are mature ones.

It was considered but we rather the thread be of quality from the very beginning. The bar is set from the start and doesnt deviate

 

It would hardly take long for everyone to be filtered through.

How about add all the regular tc posters? there can't be that many

 

Mate they've been looking at this for a while so im sure they've considered these points.

As said we are getting around to adding people, as I've said several times it will take time to do this. We arent on a strict timeline to ramp it up.
