Ange Postecoglou has a list of January transfer targets in case any of Celtic ’s World Cup stars are snared from Parkhead. And Record Sport understands one player on his radar is Israeli wonder kid Oscar Gloukh.

The Hoops gaffer says he’s already planning for the potential loss of key players if they impress at Qatar 2022. And Postecoglou admits he, and the club’s head of scouting and recruitment Mark Lawwell, have to be ready for all eventualities.

The likes of Josip Juranovic, Reo Hatate, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Matt O’Riley could all feature at the World Cup for Croatia, Japan, USA and Denmark respectively. They’ve drawn up a list of potential signings and Maccabi Tel Aviv teenager Gloukh is under consideration after being watched by Celtic’s scouts. The 18-year-old attacking midfielder has been a revelation in his homeland and is attracting interest from all over Europe. Gloukh, who was linked with Rangers last summer, is valued by Maccabi at around £8 million but only has a contract until 2024.

As Postecoglou prepared for this week’s international break, he outlined his plans for January to strengthen Celtic’s squad if required.

When asked if the next window could be busier than normal because of the World Cup, he said: “Yeah, you’re right. And that’s part of it. We showed last year that we always want to stay ahead of the game. Last January, without certainty or being able to predict the future, we thought about certain positions and what was needed. We’re doing the same again this year. We have already started planning and have identified the targets that we need.

“We will look to bring in players in January that hopefully then insulates us in case any of our players are taken off our hands. It’s part of our planning and we’re well underway in ensuring we are ready for that.

“Mark knows how I look at things and we’re planning for the next two, three, four windows - and trying to project what gaps we potentially might have. We look at the age demographic of our list and we have a lot in the younger bracket at the moment.

“We know that in the next few years that will progress and some of our players will move on. So we’ve got to make sure that we have players in the age group underneath who we can bring in and develop.

“You don’t just look at what the immediate concerns are, you look at medium term and long term issues as well. That’s just as important.”

Another youngster Postecoglou has been linked with is Australian forward Garang Kuol. The 17-year-old scored four goals in his first seven games for A-League outfit Central Coast Mariners and has just been called into the Socceroos squad for two friendly games against New Zealand.

And Postecoglou said: “He is definitely a talent. In my generation a lot of immigrants settled in Australia from a European background and some of our best footballing prospects came from those families.

“It’s a similar scenario now with a lot of immigration coming from African nations. They’re bringing their love of football to Australia. Kuol is one of those who is forging his way and there’s real talent coming through. Both him and his brother in Germany are very talented footballers and hopefully they continue to progress because Australia will benefit.”

On Gloukh, simple answer yes please, he is simply a brilliant prospect. We know Abada is good and he has got high potential, I would say Gloukh is a level above in terms of his potential.

    It's a no brainer.

    They won't get £8m either.

Maccabi Tel Aviv owner Mitchell Goldhar has confessed wonderkid Oscar Gloukh could be set to leave the club in January following crunch talks with the player's camp.

Record Sport revealed that Ange Postecoglouhas included the 18-year-old on a list of January transfer targets in case any of Celtic’s World Cup stars are snared from the Scottish Premiership champions this winter. Along with head of scouting and recruitment Mark Lawwell the Australian has drawn up a list of potential signings and Maccabi Tel Aviv teenager Gloukh is under consideration after being watched by Celtic’s scouts.

The Israeli youth cap, who was linked with Rangers last summer, is valued at around £8million but only has a contract until 2024 and the wheels appear to be in motion for a move this winter with club's across Europe tracking his progress. Goldhar spoke to Israeli outlet Ynet about a potential exit for Gloukh and talks with his agent as the player's contract runs down.

Goldhar responded: "Gloukh is one of the best players who grew up here in our academy. He has abilities that remind us of the greatest of them all. He will continue with us a little longer. Maybe in January or at most in the summer he will progress."

I doubt they will get it upfront but may in terms of total deal. He was a total stand out at the U19 Euros and there will be a lot of interest.

Although I think we would be a good move for him, a level up from Israel hopefully CL football next season again.

As you say no brainer to get him in he’s a very talented player with a potentially massive upside even if he was £6-8m.

Celtic target Oscar Gloukh has reportedly turned down a new contract at Maccabi Tel-Aviv.

Record Sport exclusively revealed earlier in September that the Israeli rising star was among a number of options being considered by Ange Postecoglou ahead of the January transfer window. The Parkhead boss is keen to future-proof his squad should any of Celtic 's top players be snapped up following the World Cup.

Qatar 2022 kicks off in November and Postecoglou is aware big clubs could come calling when the winter window opens shortly after the tournament concludes, should any of his team impress on the biggest stage. And one name on the manager's radar is 18-year-old Gloukh. Maccabi value the attacking midfielder at around £8million but he has less than two years remaining on his current deal. And now Sport5 report the teenager has knocked back the offer of an extension with a number of clubs keeping a keen eye on his situation.

He's been linked with Lille, Ajax and Rangersin recent months and it's claimed Maccabi will not stand in the player's way if they're able to negotiate a suitable fee. Gloukh has already provided three goals and four assists in just five appearances in the Israeli Premier League this season, a market Celtic have successfully exploited down the years with the likes of Nir Bitton, Beram Kayal and Liel Abada.

I'm liking the way the club is thinking nowadays..getting a system, being ahead of the game by finding good players to fit that system.

The young talent can leave almost without compensation in a year and two months, but he is satisfied with his development and his position in the club and his representatives are negotiating a new contract until the end of the 2024/25 season. A member of the team on the cup draw against Umm Al Fahm: "We need to close a corner and take care of sporting revenge

    Oscar Gloch
may extend his contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv soon and sign a new contract with the team until the end of the 2024/25 season. As was published here recently , the current contract of the young midfielder will end on December 31, 2023, which means that the next day, within the next game season, he will be able to leave Maccabi Tel Aviv for a team in Europe, when the amount that Maccabi Tel Aviv will receive will be around half a million euros only, fees The praise she deserves for raising him and contributing to his development.

Although this situation is very convenient for Gloch, the player, his father and his representative, the player's agent Shahar Greenberg, are of the opinion that he should stay at Maccabi Tel Aviv until the summer of 2025, when he will be 21 years old, or alternatively go abroad if an offer arrives that he wants and that Maccabi Tel Aviv also goes on loan from the sale

The player's father does not want to leave Maccabi Tel Aviv when the club that raised him only earns a few hundred thousand euros, therefore both from Gloch's side and from Maccabi Tel Aviv's side there is a desire to agree on a new contract that will also give Maccabi Tel Aviv peace until the summer of 2025, and also allow it to enjoy From the special player who grew up with her and also to find for him the right team that will be the right stop for his career. Alongside all this, of course, there is the desire to find a team that will pay Maccabi Tel Aviv a decent amount for the great talent.

In recent weeks, Maccabi Tel Aviv has been holding talks, which the club defines as positive, with the player's father and his agent, the lawyer Greenberg, and the parties are expected to soon start sitting down on numbers and a contract to try and reach an agreement that will benefit everyone. "The goal is to build trust and partnership between the parties so that everyone is satisfied," say those around Maccabi Tel Aviv and the player himself. "Oscar is enjoying himself at Maccabi Tel Aviv and is doing very well, so today there is no rush to run abroad. There is a time for everything and in the meantime everyone wants to close on a new contract that everyone will benefit from

See has signed a new deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv to 2025. Rumour there is a €7m release clause in it. This was on the cards to stop Maccabi losing him for a cut price rather than him staying there long term.
