Wish folk would stop saying this is daylight robbery. He's a damned good striker that's going through the usual dispute with his club scenario. He's consistent and banging them in at international U21 level for his country. Outside of his last year we could be getting almost twice that number...

That u21 stat is incredibly misleading. He was still playing for them at 23 and playing against teenagers. He was also surrounded by probably some of the best youths in the world. But saying all that, he was lambasted by the French fans for his performance in the semi-final. Plus, he didn't get selected for the Olympics. Make of that what you will.

I don't like having a go at Eddy. I'll wish him well when he goes, as I would any other player. I just think he has been hyped up to be something he isn't.

If you are 21 or under at the beginning of a qualifying campaign you can complete the campaign, he wasn't the only one his age competing and he won't be the last. There may have been teenagers against him but plenty were not.

 

I'm well aware of all of that. It doesn't change the fact the stats are misleading.

 

He's absolute class, but has displayed a terrible attitude at times..

He will need to work on that if he wants to go the very highest level..

His journey with us looks to be over but he's given more good times than not..

If we get £20m+ he will have been an excellent signing and an savy piece of business too.

 

Just want him gone now. Begging everytime I open twitter there is a good source running a story about him being in talks with sometime. Not this rag pish about Brighton ready to go for Edoaurd “next week”.

 

The guy has provided us with some memorable and pivotal moments during his time here. We won’t forget them and certainly thank him for what he has done.

In saying that, his time here will have that massive cloud hanging over it because of how it has been from last summer to now. Similar to Lennon situation. For whatever reason, he’s just not performed anywhere even remotely close to what we have seen from him in the past and the way he’s carried himself in recent times is pretty insulting to all of the club and support.

Southampton interest would make sense considering they’ve just sold Ings but to be brutally honest, I couldn’t give a * where he ends up as long as we get a good fee for him and reinvest it back into the team.

There isn't one striker from there that could do a job for us..

I agree with that assessment. You only had to watch the movement of Furuhashi to see what’s required and J Mac is so far from that standard.

Now that said, he is a poacher who scored 24 goals in 23 which makes him the standout in Australia, so I’m not sure who else it could refer to because it was J Mac then daylight.

Surely not Juric? Too immobile. A youngster? Apart from some cameos, I don’t see any up to the standard.

Yes, I agree with this. Eddie is good on his day no doubt about it, he is very good technically, but he is nowhere near the level that he is hyped up to be in my opinion.

How are the stats misleading when they are factual?
Did he lie about his age, nationality eligibility, gender etc. ?
