Eddie is going to the very top of the game. At least at those clubs he would be playing against top players and not up against 10 man defences and plastic pitches each week, after a while that's not going to excite you.

Being honest if he is for the off and say it is Villa who are willing to pay the £30 or £40m then I honestly don’t care who it is he goes too.

My biggest concern is getting the best possible replacement and doing it now.

With the exception of Larsson who left understandably after excellent service to give Barca a go, I don’t think there has been another player I really care about once he is away. Don’t get me wrong it’s good to see VVD, Wanyama, Tierney and Dembele do well for our selling profile but that’s it.

 

That's the impression i got from lenny,think he was referring to players who have stalled on contracts or making noises about leaving and in the team last night who played poorly.
It makes me laugh, players leaving because they want CL football but most of the team,including who ever they are are not good enough to get us there.Leaving because of their own failings.That and our lack of strikers.

They two statements he made before the game and after pretty much confirmed for me what actually happened yesterday edouard is not injured he was wrapped in cotton wool to be sold to highest bidder if that what the board want to do the. Fine as long as they spend some of the intake we all know that it was gonna happen regardless of champions league money .... did I expect Lennon to then throw toys out oram and play no striker nah I didn’t so annoying nobody at the club has the clubs interests at heart maybe that not the right wording .... theirs no harmony seen in the background they have all different opinions on what they think is good for the club

It’s not really surprising though is it Lennon walked away the first time because he was told funds were not available despite sales.

Selling developed players for a profit is not the issue, the lack of funding for replacements of forward planning is.
