Yeah I think there maybe one, or it maybe just a buyback clause.

Think he'll be our record sale if he keeps going the way he does. Only thing against him would be our failure to get to a CL group as that could maybe hinder his fee, unlike Moussa who hit a few goals against big teams. If I was Celtic and some dafty came in with a bid of around £20-25m I'd just automatically send a picture of McBurnie to them.

Edouard is miles ahead of Samaras.

Also, Samaras gave us his best form in his late 20s. Edouard is 21 ffs. By the time Edouard is that age he could be one of the best in the world.

    Weird comparison.

74 goals in 248 games as a Celtic striker is a pitiful return. Scott Sinclair has almost that many from the left wing in 150 odd games.

Leave Sammy alone. Only one of our players that was singled out by European opposition. They saw his YT vids.:giggle1:

And that’s what made Samaras so * infuriating we knew he could do it, but as I said most of the time he was half arsing it about the pitch and up for it when it suited him. Yes he has some big moments in a Celtic jesrsey but he also had some absolute howlers aswell unless they have slipped your mind.

Samaras played on the left wing for most of his Celtic career.

He played a starring role in our most successful European campaign in a decade, and created and scored vital goals in Champions League and Europa League Play-Off Round ties that hung in the balance. To dismiss him as "* *" is ridiculous.

Only Larsson and Sutton have more European goals for Celtic this century than Samaras (even Forrest has fewer).

The only other ones who have more goals for Celtic in Europe are Lions (Johnstone, Lennox, Chalmers and Wallace).

Who is comparing them in terms of quality?

Everyone who knows anything about football knows that Eddy is a much better player already that Samaras was in his prime. So what? That doesn't mean we can't compare their style. I might, for example, compare certain aspects of the style of Peter Grant and Scott Brown. People used to compare the styles of Kris Commons and Lubo. Absolutely mental if you insist on reading it as a comparison of quality (Broony and Lubo were far, far, far better players); but perfectly reasonable if you are comparing their styles.

I don't see the problem here. Why are we all arguing?

I initially thought you directly compared them mate, seen it so many times on here when Eddy was being accused of being lazy, so apologies first and foremost.

I still don’t see any resemblance in their style of play though. Eddy has it all, Samaras had pace and running power. His technical ability left a lot to be desired.

I appreciate what Samaras done here, I sang his song like everybody else and actually liked him during that European campaign. But the way he’s held up as some * like figure on here is ridiculous. He was a man down more often than not.

    Who's doing that here?

I took issue with you describing him as "* *", which he plainly wasn't.

Loads of folk on here over the years.

You can take issue with whatever the * you like, posting up * stats that’s dont show him to be anything more than average isnae gonnae change my opinion on him sadly.

I’ll rephrase my “* *” comment to “he was * * MOST of the time”.

    How’s that for you?

Also, there used to be a guy who sat behind me in the JS stand, that * hated Samaras. He'd spend the 90 mins criticising every little thing he did and celebrating when he scored was done begrudgingly. One game he came in, sat down, asked if Samaras was starting. When he was told aye, he stood up, said "* that I'm away up the road", and * off home. :56:

Took us a good ten minutes into the game to realise he wasn't joking.

I loved Sammy but Edouard is so far ahead. Let's hope he can replicate some of his European heroics though.

Sammy played the majority of his Celtic career on the left wing.
