    Hopefully your right on both counts. I would not be surprised if he was left on the bench Saturday even if fit to play. Maybe play Forrest through the middle on Saturday.

    Celtic were last night boosted by the news Odsonne Edouard could be given the all clear in time to face both Aberdeen and Rangers.

    The champions were rocked on Wednesday night when the Frenchman - the only centre forward currently available to Brendan Rodgers - limped out of the 3-0 win over Motherwell which took them back to the top of the table.

    Edouard’s injury sparked immediate fears that Rodgers might be without a recognised striker for Celtic's final three top flight games of the year, at home to Dundee tomorrow followed by festive trips to Pittodrie and Ibrox between Christmas and the New Year.


    But Record Sport understands Edouard’s condition is not as bad as first suspected with the club’s medics reasonably confident that the 20-year-old will be back in action in time to face the Dons on Boxing Day.




    A source said: “It didn’t look too clever on Wednesday night but the news has been more encouraging today. It certainly looks as if the game against Dundee will be a bit too soon for Odsonne but the indications we’re getting suggest has a good chance of being ready for the matches against Aberdeen and Rangers.”
