Think part of him doing it publicly is managing the fans expectations, particularly with Bosun Lawal. There was a hype train developing, one I’m on board with tbf but he’s canny enough to know sometimes us as fans (probably happens with every fanbase tbf) we can pick an untested youngster, say he’s the answer, think he’s being ignored for a reason thats not down to football because we’ve decided he’s the answer to a gripe we have.

And BR’s pretty good at managing fans and the expectations, but last year he wasn’t, I imagine this year we’ll see a lot of him trying to manage the fanbase because he wouldn’t have liked the grumbles aimed at him.

Also something he wants them to develop though, not just that.

Yeah I go lt the same impression when he chose to add Lawal to the comments about Holm.

Football fans in general do tend to get bit carried away with youngsters. Was a few on here over the last week or so getting excited about both, myself included. This was Rodgers basically saying it was Ayr and Queens Park, don't get carried away.

Interesting to see how both do over next 3 games. I think there is space for 1 in the squad this season as I doubt we buy another two midfielders on top of Bernardo

Probably depends on MOR, if we do put them on loan I want it in our league if we believe they can develop into players for us. If we don’t, down south to bump up a price tag.

Looking at Lawal down there though, I really want us to try and develop him into a starter for us. He has talent most importantly but the fact he’s a big physical tank in the middle of the pitch is a leveller sometimes as well. Don’t often get his attributes with a guy thats built like him.

Aye I definitely think Lawal has qualities we lack and that could be developed into a Ln important part of the squad.

I also feel from the little iv seen and fact he's been here a few years he may have the better mentality and will take Rodgers comments on board and look to improve. I'm not so sure Holm will tbh

Needs to grow up a loan at Killie, Dundee or St. Mirren would be good for him.

Impressive last night. He’s got a bit of Hatate about him. Not as loose on the ball, but also not quite as adventurous as Reo.

Silky, quick feet and had a swagger about him. If he works hard, like he did last night, he could be very good.

Seems to combine good touch/vision with athleticism. Looks more dynamic than our other options. Would love to see him step up and push for a place.

Think there's a tidy player in him. This season is crucial for him tho.

If he's not going to get the game time he's best away on loan somewhere.

Wasn’t sure if he was genuinely fitter last night or they were just a really bad team but he showed a good turn of pace that i’d never seen from him before and he always shown good feet and technique.

I think he definitely has the ability to become a good player for us but he needs to take Rodgers’ comments on board as that isn’t the first time he has asked for more in the press. At that age, you always know better though.

Totally agree needs a season long loan I think this season to see if he can really cut it with us. There is a player there but whether he has it in him to really fully develop that remains to be seen. Would be ideal if he went to another top half of the table team in our own league I think.

Was Rodgers not on record saying this boy will go to the top ? No way is anyone giving up on him and I can see him getting game time this season .

I can only remember him saying after the Buckie game in the cup he did well but he needs to be at it every time McGregor needs a rest. So he praised him and set down the challenge then we didn’t see him again for 2 months.

I think he needs loaning out and getting regular first team football. No point keeping him and giving him 5 minutes here and there.

At his age he needs to be playing regularly every week.

We need quality depth for the squad.

Need 6 quality midfielders. Plenty of room for him in that. It's up to him to get enough game time

I was watching his YouTube clips from before he signed it's clear that his burst of speed, running with the ball and breaking lines is a major part of his game. Obviously got to work harder though in training, hopefully his attitude doesn't spoil his time here
