    Aye they haven’t half shrunk!

    My mum used to always get a Pyramint every Saturday evening from the Spar. My old man would be in buying the Sporting Post and she’d get a sweet.

    The Sporting Post was a local newspaper (not to be mistaken for the Racing Post of today or whatever it’s called) that was printed about 5pm every Saturday, had all the results, some match reports, the all important Pools results, and also included the juniors results. It was pretty special and a tradition that your dad would get a copy, but alas, Final Score and Soccer Saturday saw the end of it. Good wee read here
