My brother calls him Marmite. He is one of those players who, when he's good he generally goes under the radar however, when he's bad he's fecking terrible and everyone and their granny is moaning about him.

He's a solid player. Great to have his versatility in our current squad

He should captain the team on Thursday night, always been a very good squad player.

Not one post about this man's performance tonight. Aside from ome moment giving the ball away, I thought he was colossal. Celtic’s man of the match by a country mile.

And at centre half too :fear:

Aye, he offers dependability in two positions.

Probably keeps him on the bench before a few.. Think we will need him in this period.

Outside of the dodgy pass that nearly led to a goal, I thought he played well. He was solid throughout and even after taking a fairly sore looking knock on the head, he got back up and got stuck in.

I also think he deserves some credit for how he handled the captaincy. ‘Meaningless’ or not, having to lead a second string squad of young guys, including some that have barely kicked a ball for us before tonight, in a European match against a decent side is still a big responsibility - and I think he rose to the occasion. He was right up at the ref during the Soro booking incident and then later on when he stopped them from taking the quick free-kick.

I get why people have their issues with him, but it’s nice to see him having a bit of a resurgence. He’s a decent player on his day, and he does seem to genuinely enjoy being here.

Looked and played like the most senior player last night. 1 dodgy moment but that was it.

Was one of his most common critics, but i must admit that he is a really good player to have. Solid performer of late and can be used in different formations/positions.

Apart from the pass he gave straight to the Betis player for a clear run on goal he was excellent.

Unfortunately he has this one big mistake in him every game..

Honestly I'd put most of the blame for that with Johnston for losing it so quickly. From memory, I think Bitton had just taken the ball out of defence and was just getting back? The pass and run from Betis was pretty perfect as well.

Am I thinking of the first goal maybe ? Striker was next to Bitton then pulled out the six yard box and Bitton never followed him. One that came off Bain.

Something very composed, assured about him the last 3 or 4 games.

Big Bitton looks more comfortable when playing in his preferred position and a lot of the criticism he has had was when he was playing out of position. He is still prone to making a mistake (as we seen last night) but, then again, who isn't. I like him in the team
