He also has the added bonus of being very calm in possession, you can see how confident he is at passing the ball out of defence.

I was sure his time was up. Not now.

I was gutted for him coming off and you could tell it meant so much for him. Such a shame.

He was a rock along with everyone else in defence. Calm and composed, he was a beast.

By no means the first name on the team sheet but in times like these we need players who can step up when asked, and play positions they might not be familiar with. Now in his 6th season with us as well by the way!

I've liked him at CB for a good while, he hasn't had a bad game there in about 3 years when he first started getting games there, even plays there for Israel sometimes now.

He's not a natural but he's good enough in the air for me better than even Ajer, quick enough and his passing adds a lot to the team. I prefer him to Jozo by far.

Guy was our next £10m player, then 2 managers just never fancied him. His footwork is class, and turns out hes a qaulity defender. Thatll do me. Well in big man.

Bitton is Mr cool, calm and collected - always has been.

The opposition won’t rush him because they know when he has then ball, he won’t get flustered and can ping that ball anywhere on the park with sublime accuracy.

He’s one player that can instil calm in a game when it’s required. Not many like him in that respect. They way he can just stand with the ball so relaxed :57:

ISRAEL boss Andreas Herzog has revealed Celtic star Nir Bitton looks set to miss the international games after his injury against Rangers in the Old Firm clash.

Bitton filled in again as a central defender as the Hoops produced an excellent performance at Ibrox to win 2-0 in the first Glasgow derby of the season.

But he hobbled off in the second half to add to Celtic’s growing defensive injury worries.

And Herzog has revealed that Bitton will almost certainly miss their Euro 2020 double-header with Macedonia and Slovenia.

He said: “Nir Bitton got injured in the Celtic game.

“We will ask Celtic for a report, but it is very likely he won’t make it and I will have to call up a replacement.

It’s a real disappointment for us because he has been getting plenty of game time at Celtic and playing well.”

Bitton, who was subbed when he collided with the hoarding at the side of the pitch and was replaced by Celtic new boy Moritz Bauer has seen his career stall due to a succession of injuries recently.

He picked up a knee injury in February 2018 and wouldn’t play again until the following January.

Probably ahead of Jozo in the pecking order now when fit.

Unreal yesterday. Called it in the match thread after the team was announced:67:.

3rd choice when ever one of Ajer or Jullien are out now.

Looked like he strained his hammy, could be over a month he’ll be out for, at least he didn’t totally * it. Could tell by his reaction he knows he’ll be out for a while.

I'd give him a new deal, he's done a turn for us in what's not his natural position in huge games a good few times now.

Would be silly to let him leave on a free and then have to replace him.

Have to wonder if Elhamed's presence at his side has buoyed his confidence, too. Keep forgetting how long he's been with us - good servant who continues to surprise us! We should continue to keep him as an option for CB. Hope he heals up soon!

    Played magic.

We had a midfielder at CB, A injured RB who hadn’t been training at CB, a guy making his Celtic debut and 4 guys making there Glasgow derbie debuts all playing in defence and some point yesterday.

Might not be a natural CB but his passing from there is * dangerous man. He’s a class act.
