Colin Miller destroys Alex Burmistrov with a clean, open ice hit. Ref's making another terrible decision by ejecting Miller based on the outcome of the hit, which unfortunately came with Burmistrov leaving on a stretcher (he was released from hospital last night fyi). Been a hockey fan my whole life, never seen more unnecessary and terrible refereeing than I've seen this year.

Bruins won 4-1, improving to 6-1 under new head coach Bruce Cassidy.

Yeah it's cold! We are based in banff and it was heavy snow when we got in last night!

Game was decent but obviously the score wasnt! Isles lost 4 goals in as many minutes in the first period and it was game over.

After that it was a fairly even game

All depends on ticket availability. Lower bowl provides the best entertainment and engrossment of the game. Depending on whose home and away, your favoured team may be attacking one zone twice, so if you can get a seat on that side you'll have a better bet at seeing some goals and offensive plays. Upper bowl seats are great as well, but if you want to really experience a game, lower bowls the way to go.

Was pulling for an Islanders win for ya, unfortunately just wasn't happening for you in the first. Hope you enjoyed the Dome, its an older building but the atmosphere's the best I've had in the few arena's I've been too.

Bruins defenceman Adam Mcquaid took a skate to the neck against New Jersey a few days ago. No major blood loss or gore, but take a look at how close he came to it...

How he didn't get seriously hurt is beyond me, but 25 stitches later he's playing tonight against the Sens.

I've been to a few games now and always try to sit as close to ice but reckon I'm going to sit further away from now on. When action is up with you it's brilliant and you hear all the hits and pucks flying directly at you (I've hopefully posted a photo of a player take just as he was smashed in the boards. You can't see the Isle player behind him but he's here and what a noise). BUT when the action is at the other end it's not always the best and I actually found myself looking at the screens to see what was going on.

I remember watching the game in which Richard Zednik was cut live a few years ago.

Was sure he was a gonner. Miraculous he survived really.

Big win for the B's in Vancouver. Brad Marchand continues to make the Canucks his *, scores a third period hat trick. Bruins go again on Wednesday in Calgary. I'll be at the morning practice and game, will post some pics if I get any.

Big win last night! Always a good feeling leaving the Dome after a Bruins win.

Yes fighting is part of the rules in NHL and presumably always will be. Not as many fights as there used to be though. Teams getting away from playing big enforcer types in favour of speed and skill.

    * Leafs!! Into third in the Atlantic and six wins in the last eight. Playoff bound on the backs of the rookies. Also, * Boston. In Vietnam right now so haven't seen a game in ages but I might have to get on the hype train and start streaming some Leafs games.

NHL announces after months of unsuccessful negotiations with the players association that its players will not be participating in the Olympics next winter. Big blow, as that's basically hockey's FIFA world cup. Will most likely see junior/minor league players go as "amatuer" athletes.

    Basically the owners are dicks.

Even after the IIHF offered to fund their participation.
